An oddity. A recently released DMIR ore car . Only 99 to go to make a train? Well, no, i've been decalling/repainting/weathering my own. So why bother with an individual car? Well, I have some others in the store-bought paint scheme. Might have another three to make a quad set! I like Atlas, but don't know why they don't release 4 different road no.s at a time. I also replace the trucks for MT as the gaps are too big otherwise...
Moose tired of the whole fiddly process of trying to install teenie tiny screws & pins into their respective teenie tiny holes! Moose is mad as bleep, and Moose isn't going to take it any more! So, da udder day, da Mooses were at the optical department and witnessed someone using a special tool to put a teenie tiny screw into a teenie tiny hole, even engaging the threads with a few twists of the tool! Moose have to have one! Moose have to have one!
Sorry Moose, those aren't for model railroaders. When I started in this hobby over 30 years ago, I was told that one of the best aspects of the hobby was searching for dropped parts on the floor. Since then, I've spent countless hours on my hands and feet looking for tiny screws, springs and detail parts the size of a fly's big toe. What fun! But you're really in for a treat when you get older and you can't even see those parts without a 200 watt light and 3X glasses! (I'm holding out for the ones Kato is doing. They come in a nice wooden box, and I'm a big fan of their stuff!)
I've been using some of those scissors like clamps used in surgery. Got my first ones in the ER. What you show looks like it would be better as you describe. What are they called? I do have some without the little slots to hold the screw but they work fine. It's just that my vision isn't up to par.
The previously posted tools are often referred to as "screw holding tweezers." Moose found several different brands & suppliers. The ones shown are from Western Optical, p/n's 2055 & 2055XL.
Just bought a Woodland Scenics just plug lighting vehicle. Having been given a bunch of related product , I decided to stick a pickup truck on the end of one. One of my modules has a grade crossing, and the cars stopped at it would have their brake lights on due to the ramp.
Post human delivered these non-lead Pinecar weights, to be used on rolling stock -- a recent Tichy Trains MoW car will be getting one of these soon!

I've also look these up and do feel they could be much more useful than the ones I have without the slots. They would hold the screws much better. Thanks for letting us know. Tried but the postage was more than the tools. I need a pair repair so I will check with them.
I couldn't resist. Growing up in Washington I enjoyed a few Oly's over the years. Never bought any of the beer can tanks before. I am impressed with the quality of the printing. The old-fashioned pull tabs on the ends are a nice touch. Not sure I should share these on the Prototypical thread! Stay safe,

Never had any “Billy Beer.” I remember generic beer in the stores a few years back. A local brewer released plain white cans recently labeled “Lager” and “Pilsner.” I considered a tank train of “Little Oly’s” or generic, but decided my wallet had enough to do already. I guess really it should go in the DCC Electronics area, but since I model in N Scale I'll just add the first of a few items coming in the days and weeks ahead? Excellent packaging by the Trainboard seller btw! Time to learn, and new locomotives arriving hopefully tomorrow? And threw in a few extra items such as the board that it plugs into ( not sure of the name yet? ), and an extra cable. Guess I can play with the grown ups now Although I have to say I still to this day, love my Bachmann EZ Command Controller. It's just I can ONLY do basic things with it. It will get hooked back up at times, especially when the nieces visit and want to run trains I have noticed that the Wheel thingy is a little sensitive, and sometimes with kind of Jump between settings, but the Increase and Decrease by Speed Steps ( I guess it's called ) either by one each or by 5 or 10's is awesome! Little confused why the Emergency STOP does not kill the entire layout. Still learning and will be for awhile for this item.
