Here's a nice Q-train with solid, fresh Schneider containers: And the night before, a grain empty crosses at sunset:
Saw a video on YouTube about this branch line. That grass fire has me wondering. There did not seem to be anything nearby. Was it started by the RR? Hmmm.
Yup, the Ceres Global Ag terminal at Northgate, SK does lumber, chemical and soon to include canola processing (hoppers in, tank cars out?) business. I assume the tank cars are handling liquid fertilizers like anhydrous ammonia, but I have never paid attention to the placards. Loads east, empties west, at least on the lumber centerbeams.
From 03/16/1997 at Seligman, AZ. That's the former Havasu Harvey House, closed in 1954 and used thereafter by the Santa Fe as a Division Point between Needles, CA and Winslow, AZ until shut in 1985 and razed in 2008.
I'm not sure, but it looks like the two center units are SP, with the second unit especially battered with age. My wife shot videos of this and more. Some day if I ever find the time and patience, I'll try to upload some. She used a tripod throughout our trips for nice steady shots and got some nice footage, although they're all on analog 8mm video. This is at Dalies, NM in 1997.
