I'm really missing working on my BMSD layout but have started working on the HO Ft Scott Depot scratch build project. Currently cutting out door and windows openings in the walls.

Cynthia and I moved into our new apartment last week and today I measured the bedrooms. It looks like layout will have to be modified just a little bit, about two or three inches shorter between modules 04 to 07. If so will have to move the tracks on module 06 to confiscate for shorter module. The train room is 13ft. 4in. long and 9ft. 8 1/2in. wide. Our bedroom is the same length and 9ft. 11in wide.

Still have more stuff to move from storage to home and will take awhile to finish but we are not tied by any time frame. We have all our basic needs here. Would like to move one load each day so we're not overwhelmed with a bunch of boxes.

One of the loads will contain my scratch building supplies so I can start working on the coal mine and sawmill that are interchangeable with each other to add variety during operations. Time to get my TV tray work bench back into action. It's about time to go back to work on the layout, I've gone way too long without working on it.

Does anyone know if frisco.org is down? I haven't been able to log on for the last three days.

Well, Joe, with a layout of this level, sounds like it's time to blow out a wall. You could also be surreptitious and just back a piano into the offending wall. Oops, sorry, honey.

A piano would work, the only problem is we don't know anyone who has one. Module 06 would be the only one that will be affected. Almost forgot about the overhead lights valance, it will be easy to modify. A lot easier than module 06. The whole process can be done in less than a day.

The Arkansas River Bridge was damaged during one of days we were in our storage unit trips, may have to replace the side trusses on the brown section and repair the lift tower on the south end.

My friend Nick has a chainsaw so that would be doable. Bet you have some more ideas we could try. Haha.

I need to work on the tracks on module 06 anyway. There is a slight down grade on the south end for some reason. Was running a short train and when the locomotive hit one spot it fell over on its side. Man overboard.

No worry. It was just nap time, so the train stopped there. It will rerail itself and continue on, after the rest period is done.

It reminded me about the guy on a tricycle that would fall over on TV show Laugh In back in the late 60s.

Sounds like it took a senior nap. Or is that a senior moment.

Tonight I'm building the frame for the coal mine, it's 5 inches long 2 1/2 wide, and 1 1/2 tall. Will use 0.060 by 0.010 styrene stripes for the sidings and set on 1/8 inch dowel rods about 3/4 inches tall. Tomorrow evening will build frame for the sawmill and it will use the same sidings.

    Feels great to model again.

I got the main building frame partially done last night and in process adding the roof frame this morning after starting to bake a 11 pound Turkey. A Dollar coin was used for reference.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my TrainBoard friends.

Just finished the coal mine frame, it's 5.3 inches long, 2.5 wide and 2.2 tall setting on a 7 by 3 inches card stock base. Next addition will be the dowel rods the mine will be setting on, this will take awhile because I get them from Cynthia's cleaning kits for her trec. There are only two in each kit and the ones I saved are in one of about ten boxes in storage that are train stuff. She uses two kits per day.

The roof will be card stock with fine grit sandpaper to represent tar paper.

Cynthia has a doctor appointment on December 20th to have a test to see if her trec can be removed permanently. She has had it since January 2020 and we're tired of the time it takes the to care for it.
