Here was the SP's attempt at their "Halloween" scheme, YUCK, worst paint scheme I've ever seen. But it was cheaper to maintain than the Black Widow.

My Halloween stuff is a Nightmare before Christmas module and a haunted house module. I don’t have any dedicated Halloween trains.

 

The SP Halloween paint may be sparse, boring, and not very pretty, but it is still better than the 'primer coat' grey that SP eventually settled on. Still, I would take that primer coat to have the SP back again...

 

Hi Carl, I personally never liked the Espee's "Black Widow" paint scheme, what a horrid mix of colors. On the other hand I did like the "Bloody Nose" paint scheme, but like the old saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

Rich S: You're dead to me. The bloody nose paint scheme was really just primer coat while the powers that be tried to come up with a paint scheme that was good looking. Tiger stripes: good. Black widow: good. Daylight: good. Halloween: eh. Bloody nose: primer.
