"Driving Rain at Milepost Three" It's hard to imagine rain coming down sideways, but for the minute I stood on my tailgate to bag this shot of an eastbound local, I was soaked to the bone by the rain. A good indicator of the wind is in the bushes; the leaves are laying back significantly from the strong winds. MOW crews at the time were also working on tie replacement and one crewman gives a rollby inspection as BNSF 1974 and company roll past. There's also a Form B in effect with lots of bell and whistle, but it's not like I could hear it over the howling gale!
