Hi, I'm looking for an USA online store that sells trains in 0 and H0 scale with low shipping costs to Italy. Amazon.com has the lowest shipping costs among the stores I have seen, but it has few items, ebay has very high and also charges the wrong import taxes.
Sometimes I have ordered from Trainworld but recently they have raised shipping costs.
    Can you help me?

Hi, I am also from Italy, between shipping charges and import duties I do not really think you can get anything not utterly expensive.
You can try some importers from Germany, higher prices than the US, but maybe you can offset the lower shipping costs and find something you can not get in Italy.
In any case I think it would be better to try each site (which I can not nominate due to the forum rules), but you can see the advertisements on this site.
I also happen to have 2 HO ALCO FA that are surplus if you are interested send me a private message.

being in the UK I have to import too, not done it for a while but used Trainworld a lot and Toy Train Heaven. Both happy to ship to UK and reasonably priced but can't comment about recent shipping prices. Shipping full stop has gone crazy. I don't use Amazon on principal that they don't pay tax anywhere. eBay's global shipping programme is just a nightmare, if you order more than one item it charges the same for all and then collects all the imports charges at source... personally I preferred the chances of it coming through customs and getting through without. customs don't seem that bothered for low value items and if it comes from an individual they rarely bother checking values. sellers aren't obliged to use the GSP so you could as if they would give you a price and ship via normal postal services?

Otherwise find yourself a good local hobby shop.

Sorry but not an option in Italy, there is probably one or two that import US models (or accessories) but with just two locos you may buy a return ticket to the US. (exaggerated but not much)

ebay global shipping is out of mind! Tax and shipping are greater than the cost of the goods

I know some German importer. it is cheaper to buy directly from the USA, however in Europe it is very difficult to find O scale trains with three rails, shops in Germany sell Lenz, Dapol etc ... with 2 tracks

If you look for that kind of trains you have no other choice.
