I think I've been having too much time for thinking. I've been having problems getting the necessary bachmann N Scale 2-10-2's for my 2-10-10-2 build and have discovered that the drivers from a Minitrix 2-10-0 are extremely close in size but they have pizza cutters. Enter Minitrix today, at the end of the year they will release a brand new 2-10-0 (German model) The drivers look basically the same except they aren't pizza cutters. The bad news is that the model costs 449.00 Euro which is too expensive for me at this time. However that does mean eventually there will be spare parts. If they stock the new drivers the I can use those. I'm also wanting to model about 5 2-10-2's in total (1600 class ATSF). So it has dawned on me that I can make my own. I've bought the last 2-10-2 frame halves so I can make a mold and make my own. I have the correct 12v DC motors and I should be able to make the small flywheels. I can get worms and gears from Poland. The tenders will be from atsfnscalemodels. I'll cast the boilers and scratchbuild any detail parts needed. I may have been in lockdown too long! I don't live in the US so a 2-10-2 is harder to get than if I was in the US. Anyway that's the plan.
