    I remember seeing it in suburban Chicago on the MILW main (north via Milwaukee) and always thought the train name was cool. I can't remember if it operated on a different route in the western states than the Empire Builder.

    East of Spokane it took the old NP line thru Butte, over Homestake Pass. What a ride that would have been!

    The house track on the right is gone now, as is most of that concrete apron. It has been replaced with a gravel road and an iron fence between road/parking and the tracks. The fence is about where the yellow stripe is on the concrete, so you can get very close to the trains!!

    The one in the photo is 4-8-2 6060, it was bought back by CN in 1972, so not too long after that photo, and replaced with 6015, which is what is currently on display.
