Welcome everyone to the gateway to the weekend and ironically enough, I'm writing this from the gateway to the west, St. Louis. Lets get started!

Saturday: I'm technically starting the train weekend for work as I'm at the St. Louis RPM meet both today and tomorrow. I'll be mainly at the Athearn booth from 8:30am - 5:00pm and if you are reading this and will be at the show, please stop by and say hi. I packed a lot into the Horizon Hobby SUV and I'm looking forward to finally running the small project layout, although, I still have a long ways to go.

Sunday: Will probably be a non-hobby day after two days of the RPM. Mowing and riding the motorcycle will probably be just a few of the activities of the day.

So how about you? What do you have planned for this transition weekend of July to August? Let us know. We'll come back on Monday, August 2nd to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and...

    High Greens!

Hope to apply some paint to legs for my benchwork. Because of "feels like" temperatures in excess of 100 Deg., I've gotten very little done this week. I could sneak the work indoors while my wife is at work, but lingering paint odor would give me away. ;)

Have to work this full weekend. System upgrades on Saturday morning and post upgrade user support starting as soon as the system comes back on line. Should be a busy weekend. Behind on my reading so will have the latest editions of N Scale and N Scale Enthusiast magazines with me for when I have a few minutes here and there. Hope the rest of you all have a great weekend.

After our out of town journey last weekend, I will be applying decals to my latest F7 project.
After some much needed home projects.

    Y'all have a great weekend,

Friday I'll be watching the news. I've friends and family where the tornados touched down in Bucks County, PA. So far everyone is OK. Still waiting on word from Moms sister and family.

Friday night I'll cut and acid etch the corrugated roof material for my grainery build.

Saturday will be mowing and yardwork. Saturday night will be finishing up the Intermountain boxcar kit.

Sunday looks like rain. I'll take the layout down to the cellar and work on the filler pieces needed after ripping HCD.

    Have a great weekend!

After a nice long vacation I am back. Didn’t get much done last week but that is ok.

With three weeks until the Evanston Free-moN meet I am now down to the wire for finishing projects and work isn’t helping much.

Hopefully today I will finish up a scratch build structure for a module. Last one too.

Sunday it time to get the nitty gritty stuff done. End plate covers, repairs, decals and weathering of structures, cutting some lumber for leg leveling (floor in Evanston is not flat), fine tuning some rolling stock, decoder install, replacing wheels, fixing couplers, if I get around to it ipdating two throttles firmware, and many more stuff.

I'll need to trim my two HCDs to shorter lengths and I need to be precise on the cuts. Is there any trick to this that I need to know about? What's the dimension of the framing lumber that's inside of HCDs? Thanks for any tips you may know of.

Finally back from California so there will be modeling this weekend.

Friday, no modeling as I am attending the end of the year Awards Banquet for the Cleveland USBC Bowling Association as an officer of the Association.

Saturday will be club day, as I have missed the last two weeks, will also be finishing an Intermountain PFE 40' Reefer and then painting and decaling it along with another Athearn 34' Hopper that was outfitted with the Pikestuff Panel sides.

Sunday, completing the decal work on the above cars and starting work on some Intermountain 5283CF FMC Boxcar kits.

Good morning all. After several weeks of working on signals, I have gotten them all working to my satisfaction. For this weekend, I think I am going to cut some left over red rosin paper to match the bench work in the future areas of the layout and work on some more detailed track plans. I may also get to working on some more line poles for the layout. Hope you all have a great weekend whatever you end up doing.

Today (Friday) is my day off and I'm finally starting to build a new full-height pegboard panel behind my workbench. When we moved in, I reused what I had but have stared at the unused wall space (top of picture) and wished I had more room to hang stuff. So, today's the day, I guess. I have the panel built (at bottom of picture), but now I have to pull the workbench out, take down most of the tools, disassemble what I have, reassemble everything, and then put all the tools back.

Tomorrow, I hope to work on some rolling stock and maybe work on organizing Dad's trains. And Sunday is our monthly club meeting at the Sebring Model Railroad Club.[IMG]

It is usually about 1.5" on the top and bottom.

Thank you. I'll be turning some lag screws into the corners to mount my legs and that should be sufficient then. :)

Some people take their model railroad projects to work to allow more time for completion. :sneaky:

what can I say, I have extra time usually sitting in a hotel somewhere. Might as well use the time to my benefit.

I'm thinking a little dust mopping followed by spraying febreze followed by "just helping you a little, honey". Will improve your "stats" (maybe?). (y)

So far, six main components cut out. The roof has been textured and tinted. I did a work order sheet for the bungalow earlier and came up with twenty-seven line items. These do not include window and other sub-assemblies. I will continue the work (I said optimistically.). Looks like hot weather and bad weather are challenging some others. Good luck and be safe and have fun. :D

It's the birthday season here. My wife, tomorrow, daughter on the 5th and two friends in between. Always manages to keep me busy with non-train activities. Today was a 7.5 mile hike. Saturday driving to Seattle to watch the Sounders at 2pm, then Tacoma to watch the Reign at 7pm. Which brings me to Sunday:

Need to finalize the dimensions for the disc drivers on UP2295. After that, I need to draw said drivers on Corel, with which I am only marginally familiar. Hopefully something to share on Monday.

    Stay safe,
