Good morning from sunny and warm (soon to be hot) Northeast Ohio! Completed two cars this week! Red Caboose, 1937 AAR Boxcar, substituted a Viking Roof (Des Plaines Hobbies), as many of the Van Swearigin Roads used this roof style on their 1937 AAR Boxcars. Yarmounth Models Sill Steps in place of the plastic ones, painted the car with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red #3 and lettered with Speedwitch Media Decals. The completed Intermountain 1958 CF Covered Hopper, painted with Scalecoat II MOW Gray and lettered with Mark Vaugjn's decals. In 1956 The M&StL embarked with changing their image with new graphics on their newly acquired freight cars along with repainting some of the old ones. The 1958CF Covered Hoppers were originally delivered in Black with White lettering, the car above was the only known of the original cars to be painted in a modified modern sceme. I showed both sides of the car as the company shops made a slight mistake in lettering the car. Last weekend I took my Rapido RS-11's to the club with all the coal cars that I had outfitted with Kadee couplers, metal wheelsets, and coal loads. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski
From 08/1978 on my old N Scale road, Con-Cor PA-1, Minitrix U-30CG, Rapido F and Minitrix U-28C. Turntable is Arnold Rapido.
Atta' Boy! Very nice work. I may try to do a black car w/ white lettering for the 'Em and St. L' in the future. Very inspiring.
A look down the road to the big warehouse/industry: And some folks are hauling some pretty odd stuff these days.
Still no run byes. If I can get the inclines in place perhaps we will have something. In the meantime here is a Reading 4-6-2 Pacific to tide you over. This one is by Mehano. No mention of IHC. Box is green with Mehano on it.
I got the grabs replaced and the running boards installed then repainted the roof of the paired Walthers Airslide hoppers. Of course the stirrups I ordered too late showed up after I put the paint away for the day, so I'll have to replace them next week. Here the car is next to an Athearn Western Pacific Airslide for comparison. Both cars have had their trucks replaced with Kato trucks, though they aren't an exact match for the Mopac car. If I end up with some that match the prototype better I'll replace them but for now I'll keep them. I'm tempted to do another one of these paired Airslides, and if I do next time it will be mismatched Union Pacific cars.
Southern Pacific train spotting in the Snake River Canyon This is Z-scale (1:220). Was that your first guess, too? Have a nice WE! Best, Sven
Well, today I finished putting together an Accurail PS Covered hopper painted for the Milwaukee Racine and Troy, MR&T. So I thought I would take a photo of some other MR&T equipment I have. I hope you like them.
For a while I was sure this was posted in the wrong thread... Those overhead shots are very realistic. Nice work, Sven!
The Sout Western and Pacific engine facilities got a makeover the last couple of weeks. And e caught a couple of the BlueBird Flour cars at the mill.
The Lone Ranger rides again. Or should that be the Lone Star? Now with DCC and lights. Sure is noisy.
Wow. I had never seen or heard of this error. Do you have a prototype photo available, which might be shared? Or reference to a book I could view the picture there?
Same here. I went back to look and there it was... CN shop workers did something similar while replacing some access panels on a switcher after maintenance and it came out CANADIAN NANATIO...
