Looked like an empty coil car, without a hood on it. I've seen some BNSF ones like that in Seattle. They carry a huge roll of steel on them.

I love it when old depots are restored to look new and those red CP locos sure are striking, especially those rebuilt ones. Doug
Was the Washington depot moved? Or the track realigned? A depot that size would seem to be quite a chore, (and $$$), to relocate.
I see a lot of MOCX cars, usually short versions of a covered hopper with 3 bays, on CP manifests between St Paul and Edmonton and Calgary. They typically are a burnt orange color, and nowadays, many are clean and fresh.

LOL, Yep, thats a mess for sure. We see them thru here, headed to and from the Potash branch to Moab and back, usually the last type of service before they fall apart. In 1984, I worked for a couple years in Silverton CO, at the Sunny Side gold mine, as an underground mechanic. We had all kinds of vendors come around trying to sell their products. If you ever been part of that underground miner community, those guys can be merciless to one another. There was a Eutectic weld rod sales newbie trying to sell the mine a truck load of welding rod. A little back story. The water that dripped in that mine was basically acid, the main level tram was 3ft gauge, 75lb rail, if that water dripped on to the rail, it would cut thru it over time. So everything was quite rusty. The warehouse people asked that salesman, if he could get us some Eutectic rustrode welding rod, so we could weld rust. He said he would look into getting us some rustrode.
Back on topic, we were discussing an MOCX car that was grungy and rusty; here's a fresh one I see frequently.
