So this has started showing up... and no, eBay, I am NOT changing my security settings. Are you really in a position to make browsing your site more difficult?

Any computer that is on my work network (which also includes my home computer since I'm now telecommuting) is about to have Java turned off and removed just because of how insecure it is so I guess that means I'll finally be leaving EBay for good. I haven't sold anything there for at least 10 years, but I still occasionally buy something there.

I never sold anything there in the 22 years I’ve been on it.
It’s funny though because no Apple product has had Java for YEARS. So maybe you just browse too fast via windows 10, lol.

I'd blow past any listing such as this one, too. Depending upon where you shop, these can easily be found at prices where you can get at least four or five brand new- if not more, for what this seller is asking for their worn packaging non-collectible.

All this item has been re listed N Scale Southern Pacific Rebuilt GE U25B SP M-K TE70-4S #7031 New Old Stock GP40 | eBay ... at $99.95 plus $8.35 for shipping! And the seller still Refuses to Admit that it is Not a GE U25B rather than a BACHMANN EMD GP40 in the God Awful Eyesight Hurting SP Daylight paint scheme.

    Total with shipping :
    $108.25 Seriously ! I think I could get a pair of ATLAS / KATO'S , current Used ATLAS Locomotives for that $ .

And a little over 20 some dollars with shipping for a new body which the close ups show it needs. And then if the body is in this shape what shape is the mechanism in?

The thing is worth what? Ten bananas, fifteen on a good day (for the seller, that is)..........................?

I always took this one as an incorrect version of the Shouldn't Paint So Fast scheme rather than the Daylight, as it is missing the black roof of the
    Daylight scheme.

.........and it is lettered "NH" for "New Hampshire Railroad"............................... I guess that the seller never has heard of the NYNH&H. I suppose........it has not, after all, existed for fifty two, or so, years.

No, the paint scheme is referred to as the 'popsicle' paint that was only applied to 4 U-25b rebuilds that were done by Morrison-Knudsen in 1978. The locos were actually designated as M-K TE70-4S after the rebuild was completed. The first revenue run occurred beginning March 1, 1978, when the four locomotives handled a TOFC train between Portland and Los Angeles. Inauspiciously, one of the four locomotives broke down during the trip. The experiment was obviously a failure as unreliability led to their retirement in 1987 and no other units were ever rebuilt. Other than Bachmann being Bachmann (at the time Bachmann still made poorly running locomotives and didn't care about accuracy) and hoping that SP was going to paint all of their locomotives like this (or maybe they just thought a GP-40 looked like a U25b), they released the GP-40 in the paint scheme. It has been shaming them ever since...
