Been on the lookout to buy for awhile now & have noticed not seeing any Intermountain cab forwards or Atherns tank train sets for sale. Next bet is to start emailing TB sponsoring shops but is this the general concensus within the hobby?Because of the chinese virus?
I doubt it's a covid thing, not everything is, but it's nice to have something to yell at now and then. Anyway, it is just more the nature of this hobby. I have a MP36DC all pretty in New Mexico Rail Runner paint, and I have been looking for the Bombardier bi-level cars to go with them for a while now. Athearn used to make them and sold a set of 3 for about $89. Today people think these cars are somehow made out of unobtanium and are worth $150 per car, if I can find them at all. I'm not just talking about the NMRR cars, but ANY of the Bombardier bi-levels, in any scheme from any manufacturer. Just keep looking and one will pop up eventually, just hopefully it wont break your bank to get a hold of it.
Tell me about it. The last time Athearn ran the cars I want, I was not in the market for them. No one made the locomotives, and I don't trust my detail skills to recreate the phoenix/road runner on the engines, or the cars!
Thanks for replies gents,too true on the pre-orders lol. You wouldnt believe it but just this morning i found a cf, in the process of procuring it now & a member has kindly pm'd me with a lead to some Tank Trains. Funny how things work out sometimes.
Yep. I watched a 2nd series dc only IM ac12 go for 650 last night on eBay. Made me so happy that I got the series 3 I wanted with esu DCC+sound for $400 in 2019.
