I stopped by for a visit with Craig Martin on one of my trips and he mentioned that the BNSF Barstow team was doing it's best to only send the higher tier rated units down the hill to LA unless it was something that was replacing local power. I did notice I didn't see many trains with older power and no steam want-a-be's on my few trips out that way. UP was a different story.
Eastbound stacks on 20 Dec meet some winter white in Minot. I wanted to emphasize the snow by blurring it, but slowed the shutter a bit too much and blurred the train too!
