Yup. Then have to relocate the trainshed, which is a 10x50 RolloHome of 1962 vintage. That is a good year for mobiles, because the frames were stiff steel making it a much better platform for a RR to live in. Moving it will be a bit of a challenge, but doable. My new location has a 6 unit Mobile Home Park to put back in use. One of which may become the sheds home! I also plan to leave two lots open for RV's so as I can market them to train nuts, like us!, to use while passing through or hanging out in Glendive for a day or two. Fun!

Sometimes new beginnings are what we need. I may be finding out next summer IF we move to Winnemuca Nevada. Just like our layouts...other things in our lives are never quite finished.

Watching NPBH grow and prosper has been and will continue to be something I will be looking forwards to. (y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

Thanks! Ditto, your portable layout has been an inspiration here also! Winnemucca does get a LOT more of the white stuff for you! It is also very near the Nevada Northern in Ely, real live STEAM railroading!!!!

Just a quick update for you all. The new spot for the Trainshed to move to is ready. The Trainshed itself is about half ready to go. I have more stuff to secure inside so nothing gets destroyed while moving it from there to here. Then just unskirt it and unhook the electrical and get her moved. That will be a trick as it is wedged between a tree and a power pole and an electric box for CenturyLink. I will have to use a backhoe for the initial turn and reset to get the tongue out where I can put it on my truck. I used a backhoe to put it where it is now. The tricky part will be avoiding going uphill backward with it, there is an irrigation ditch on the backside of it. This will be an involved project. Yes, I will get video and pics for you all.

The RR itself is as I left it, albeit a bit dirtier. Most cars are boxed up and half the locos. I suppose I will set a camera inside to video what befalls things in there, per my brothers request, gcav17. "The great quake of 20201!" or some such thing!

    Sure have missed the layout!!

So, when I unblocked the trainshed, the door was jammed shut. Sorry, no interior videos of the move. However, my son did get a few of the move out of it's past location, and I will get those up as soon as I figure out how. Here's a couple of pictures to start, this is where we had to put it so I could get my Toter truck on it. It was tricky getting it backed up around the obstacles. Trees, power pole and phone box.

The big "bump" in the video was the TV stand deciding to fall over. That did cause a little easily repaired damage. And a mess. The first attempt to roll it back caused the backhoe bucket to punch a hole in the front wall. Also easily fixed. All in all a gratifying move! Now to get it blocked, leveled, wired up for electricity, etc.....o_O

So its all moved to its new location now? And with minimal damage? Good deal. Now to see how much your track shifted during the move. Not to bad I hope.

Doing something such as this move would scare the daylights out of me! I could never be so lucky as to have "minimal" damage...:eek::eek:

I was worried that there would be more! But, a cursory inspection shows no major damage to the layout at all! Which makes me happy as a steamer under a full head of steam!

So here are a couple of pics of the new home for the Trainshed. I put a temporary patch over the 'new tunnel' the backhoe bucket punched. The view with the full moon also shows the top of the sand gantry top.

Love your old truck. Especially being a cabover. What's underneath? 272? 292?
