My flare project is complete, for now cause as you well know layouts are never finished. Thank you. Yes brand new was the goal for this one. I may leave the next in a patina appearance, tho I won’t know till I get it. I have done a few rustorations for a customer and sometimes I just like the aged look the bikes get over the brand new look. This one needed to look different... the yellow it was painted was an ugly color. Now it’s Hellcat Toxic Orange and a medium grey. I followed the classic orange/grey scheme Honda did but twisted it a bit.
Oh BTW in case you didn't notice. Restoration= Mechanically and cosmetically brand new again Rustoration= Mechanically new and perfect, but cosmetically old and patina looking.
I promise this is the last time for this project report. Some have asked for a night shot as well as asking if it flickered. Well yes it does, to a degree, so here is that night shot. There is NOTHING on my workbench. Yes folks the Trail 90 is no longer all over my shop! It still needs just a little bit more work to be finished but it is 99% assembled (only the exhaust is left) and only needs to be timed to get running! The weather here is crap so it may be a while before I get that first ride video. I'm gonna have fun taking this bike to the local cruise at God Father's Pizza!
Not really on my workbench but just below are my storage boxes for my French locomotives and rolling stock:
Nice organized collection of locomotives and rolling stock. I've used boxes that were emptied of hi-locks used on four Space Station IEA Assemblies. They are a type of bolt and collar used in all air and spacecraft assembly, the main body of collar is round with a 6 point hex nut on top that breaks off when torque is reached. The bolt has a head with nothing you could put a wrench on, only markings of part number. It does have an opening for allen wrench on the thread end in case it wants to spin. The boxes are six inches long, four wide and two and half inches deep. I can put about ten passenger cars in each box with small bubble wrap. Joe
I use Avery Labels on which I print .gif pics from this website : http://www.mlgtraffic.net Then I manage the labels with Inkscape.
So my workbench got some new train stuff on it, and also non train stuff. Over Turkey day weekend I bought 2 new to me 2001 S10 trucks. A ZQ8 (sport suspension package) and a 4wd. The 4wd truck will eventually be a daily driver but I need to get some work done on it first, the ZQ8 will prolly go to my son. BUT... last weekend I went to start the ZQ8 and nothing. Cranked good but no varoom . So yesterday I acquired a borrowed fuel pressure tester and found my first theory was wrong, I had fuel, spark but no go. I checked then the distributor and found about 10 degrees of play and the rotor would lift about 1/4 of an inch. I replaced it and the spark plugs tonight and varoom! So it looks like maybe tomorrow I will get to play with my new modules!

I guess it’s not on my workbench any more... I got an Orange that looks the part for my DQ. So I was able to finish the build tonight. Oh, and the bricks suck! I mean really bad. They may have been ok in HO scale but my eyes hurt now. Anyway enjoy the pics.

Well... that is the ubiquitous Walthers ADM elevator which I have too! And it appears you like lemon-lime seltzer water too. We seem to have some things in common LOL.
