Posting here as it is not regularly scheduled passenger service, but more entertainment/tourism oriented:

Smithsonian Channel's Mighty Trains did an episode (Season 2, Episode 4) on the Rocky Mountaineer. Luxury all the way. I might be wrong, but I seem to remember that passengers disembark at upscale hotels each night. It'd be fun, but I'm thinking my wife and I would perhaps more so enjoy a legit experience aboard VIA's Canadian between Vancouver and Toronto, or one of Amtrak's routes west from Chicago.

My wife and I rode it back in 2014. Vancouver to Kamloops where we overnighted in a hotel. Then to Jasper for another hotel. They then transported us by bus down through the national parks to a night at the old Canadian Pacific hotel on Lake Louise. Next night in the old CP hotel in Banff. Then by train back to Kamloops for the last night before returning to Vancouver.
Here the train is parked for the night at Kamloops.

The intriguing thing about the Rocky Mountaineer is that it runs the CP main, which is otherwise bereft of passenger service and is more scenic through the Rockies than CN's main I am told. Shoot -- maybe we'll have to ride both trains. (y)

The Rocky Mountaineer is now the only passenger train that runs between Kamloops and Calgary on the CP tracks. This includes the Spiral Tunnels and Kicking Horse Pass. VIA heads up to Jasper and gets to Kamloops on the CN. After that it depends on which way you are going, CN tracks are used Westbound along the Frasier River between Kamloops and Vancouver by all trains and CP tracks for Eastbound. The CP built first so got the best right of way, bridging back and forth across the river to take advantage of the geography. The CN had to build through slide zones and construct slide sheds over the roadbed many places to keep the falling rocks off the track. There are multiple places where the railroads swap sides of the river and one bridge goes over the other. The CN route between Kamloops and Jasper is still quite spectacular.
