@BNSF FAN lives near Atlanta Georgia so they have warmer weather than most of us.

The Atlanta area is unique place when it comes to weather. Thanksgiving day and black Friday were 70, by Monday night, it was snow flurries. The old joke here is that if you don't like the weather, just wat a few days and you will have a different season. This week is supposed to be cold but possibly some warm up next week.

We say that in ND as well. "If ya don't like the weather, wait five minutes, it'll change." and "Minnesota sucks and Montana blows" (prevailing winds)...:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Only when OK blows, it frequently makes a twirling cone in the sky that eats towns. ND doesn't get nearly as much of that craziness.;)

I've lived in the Tulsa area since 1967 except for 2 1/2 years in California. Only once have seen a small tornado about 7 miles away, didn't see it but another small tornado took our patio cover into the neighbors backyard a quarter mile away. She called me all mad and told me to get it out of her yard. I told her I was walking out the front door to do that when she called. She didn't think that was good enough and said to hurry up. Nice neighbor huh.

True, just didn't have any on hand. Going to use some strip styrene that will cover my less that stellar caulk job (hopefully).

Was a busy weekend but got a couple of things done. Saturday during a break, I was able to get the utility room warm enough to paint a few parts and as posted above, began gluing some silos together. The caulk looks pretty rough like it is and as noted, PVC glue would have been cleaner but didn't have any on hand. I did like that suggestion though. I'm planning on using some strip styrene to make the flat areas between the silos so that mess shouldn't show anyway. We shall see how that goes. Sunday provided a little more time in the afternoon but not much. The first thing I did was gather up the parts I painted Saturday and get to work on the roof for the tank car and truck loading platform. It seemed to come together okay and it is in place now. One more thing off the list. It's all down to pipes and details in this scene now.

For the next couple of months, I am turning my attention to mainly the grain elevator project and more trees, brush, and shrubs. Not sure if I mentioned it before but the grain elevator is the last big structure and scene for the layout. My biggest concern with building the grain elevator is the tops of the silos. I've never been much of a scratch builder person until recently and because of the size, the tops and the building and details that run along the top, will be a true challenge for me. I'm using the head house from the Walther's grain elevator kit so at least that part should go okay. I put a base coat of white on it and have started installing windows.

There are a lot of windows in tis building.

    20201213_153456.jpg

Excited and nervous to see where this goes.

Thanks Sidney! There is a whole mix there. The big sphere is a kit, the round storage tank with the railing around the top is actually two Bachmann gas storage tanks stacked together, the small silver tank behind the whited domed PVC cap is from a long lost Chooch water tower kit, the set of 3 small tanks are from an old DPM gas station kit and the big group of six tanks are all made from empty tape spools. Not sure the wine cork counts as a tank or tanked. :D
