All true...BUT....it is just something I want to do...not something I have to do. It's the challenge I enjoy. (y)(y)

With the layout 99% done...I'm just playing around with stuff now...:D:D

Mask off a rectangle using tamiya masking tape or similar, then paint. Would the paint layer provide enough of a thickness to show a "drawer"? Might be too small to do this.

And one shoot through the shop window with the shop lights on !

George what you are doing is the fun part of any train layout. Dressing it out. Me thinks you are having entirely to much fun.

5 days for the holiday...no trains !!

My oldest sone showed up Tuesday night. He was here to work on his 1979 Jeep Cherokee Chief that has been sitting in my second driveway for 8 years !

We tore the front off the motor to replace the timing gears and chain that I had told him 9 years ago had jumped a tooth on the nylon gear on the camshift. he thought I was nuts at the time. Guess who was right ? :D

He preordered parts. He claims the title says its a 1978. I told him it was a 1979. I told him to go online and run the VIN. Guess who was right ? :D:whistle:

As you can guess...Jeep changed a lot of things on that 360 motor...starting in...1979 !!! Nothing he preordered fit this motor !!:oops:

We had to run around The Mountain for 3 days searching for parts. We got all but the small gear that goes on the end of the camshaft...in front of the timing gear...that runs the distributor. Guess who was right ? :D:whistle:

I never rubbed his face in the fact dad was right all along. He was pretty bummed we couldnt button it up and start it though. When will kids ever learn...;)

I will try to teach my son (14) how to do something, most of the time he will listen but some times he doesn't. On those occasions I sit back, watch till he screws up, then ask him to try it how I just said... Yea that worked great. This weekend it was about starting the lawn mower. He was pulling hard and fast but not a full stroke. I told him it wasn't about the speed but about getting the engine through a full cycle or 2 to get it running. He said he knows how to start the mower. Well after a few minutes of trying he said it prolly needs a new spark plug and that's why he could not start it. I walk over to it and pulled the cord one long full pull at a firm pace and wow the thing started right up. Hmmm...

I'm still liking the idea of having a 2nd driveway.
