Thanks for the well wishes. The likes, it's all appreciated.

BNSF Fan, Sir! No apologies needed. Just not used to hearing that. In California it appears nothing is sacred. Nobody calls each other Sir. You might be lucky to here Mr. or Mrs. as is appropriate.

It is a Spaghetti Bowl, I offer no apologies for that. This layout earned me the nick name "More Track Rick."

A dear friend now departed used to call it, "The Pretzled Dog Bone" of a Layout. That works for me.

While the layout is out from the wall the first things is to add additional wire to the leads that were cut. That will give me some slack to work with. Of course the Track is priority one.

The L girders, five of them all together are doing their job. The sag in the layout is gone. Now I could build a "Hump Yard" out on the main. Aiiyiiyii !!

I was asked privately what two L Girders, I added yesterday. These are at the L end of the layout. Here you go.

You can discern the old wood from the new pine.

A shout out of Thanks to Vaughn and Fernando for helping me flip it up and on it's feet. Well done guys.

I won't be happy until all the sections are back in place, up and working.

    Stay tuned.

Wow Rick, that's fantastic progress and looking like what I saw when I came over several times when you were in Big Bear!

    Thanks John,

    Look at the fun ahead.

I have some ideas that might make this layout even more interesting.

    More later.

34 F degrees this morning. We got a dusting of snow. Just to remind us Winter is coming. Pretty but not impressive.

I discovered to my dismay the last L girder, I put in straightened out a section of the layout. Did exactly what I was hoping it would do. However, But, Considering! It now sits to high to connect smoothly with the helix portion of the layout. :censored:%$@:censored:(*&:censored: I said. I can't use those expletives here. Our Pilgrim Heritage gets in the way. Reminds me of my time in a parochial church school education system. (n) Anyway. I decided to remove it and replace it with one that will reach over to the helix section and tie it in. You know, when... once I'm ready to bring them together.

Most of my track switches, Unitrack switches function just fine and survived the o_O onslaught. ;) I have one or two that was giving me trouble before and still are but that's expected. As is any bad news these days:sneaky:. The good news is: I have replacements and this may be the time.:)

Are you getting as tired of these little ugly faces as I am. They sometimes say what I can't or I'm not allowed to.

Picked up my Sunday copy of the paper. Headlines! You should know by now. What are the fine folks in my neighboring states thinking.:censored::censored::censored::censored::cautious::mad:

It is what it is. Enough said.

Lot's of work to do. The kind of work Winter is perfect for.

Broke my kitchen pancake flipper. No time to wait for Christmas. I'll be off to WalMart ASAP!! How do you fix pancakes, eggs or anything else that needs flipped without one?:cry::sick::LOL:

In my signature it used to read, "If you look long enough you will find a protoype for anything you want to model on your railroad." That's not original with me but I paraphrased the original saying.

The most awkward reaction I've had to my layout is, "I don't want anything like that." I get that but I didn't build it to please anyone but myself and my Dad. Still unsure he was sold on it. He liked the one I built for him in Hollister, Ca. It was a bigger railroad with a single track mainline. Several sidings on it and he located train stations along those sidings. Eventually the sidings turned into small yards. He liked to drop of a Pullman Standard Sleeper at the stations. Like the old days.

So while we are all waiting for this Wobbly to get his layout back up and running you can watch this. I found a video that might have you either LOL or Cursing it. I thought it was cool and certainly give you something to work toward or ignore.

    Trains Extreme.

    Enjoy.

So sorry to hear about the demise of your pancake flipper. :(
No way can you hope to survive without the availability of such a mission critical piece of equipment.
Since your flipper seems susceptible to breakage, may I suggest that, in the future, you buy only the "extra light & fluffy" pancake mix. (y)

Point 353, those look mighty good right about now. Just got up and the temperature outside is 30 F. I heard they got down below Zero in Big Bear Country which is early this year. That usually waits until January.

Lead weighted pancakes. :D Now that's funny. :)
I've eaten pancakes that were doughy inside. They seemed heavy. How about those made with whole wheat you'd swear they made your stomach sit on your pelvis bone. Those made me sick.
You can believe it or not but eggs over easy. They wanted to wrestle the flipper. I suspect the two not just one flipper, I broke, are probably due to dropping on the floor one to many times. They were cheap-o's.
Did you say you pay for what you get?
    Yep!

With a good non-stick fry pan or skillet and a sufficient amount of butter, you shouldn't even need a flipper to make eggs over easy.
Perhaps your technique could use some improvement.

Here we are talking about pancakes, and I just finished my lunch... Kinda. I had gravy meatballs and applesauce for lunch. But I didn't get the Applesauce... when I opened up the jar it was moldy :mad::mad:. It was only opened last week, and should still be good!! GRRR:mad::mad::mad: I wanted my applesauce!

Non-stick coatings don't have an infinite life.
I usually take my eggs scrambled, and it's easy to tell when the pan's non-stick coating is fading away.

If you are in the market for some new cookware, check out the OXO brand pans.

That technique for cooking eggs over easy was new to me.
If you do give it a try, let us know if it gives you good results.

I have a full set of well seasoned cast iron pans I have had for years. I use a very thin metal spatula, and cheap, that I have replaced many times over the years. All this talk about pancakes has me thinking about some light and fluffy sourdough pancakes.

You guys are to-oooo much. ;)(y):)

John M., My favorite pans are cast iron. Maybe this Christmas? In my opinion nothing like Buttermilk Waffles.

To the Point 353, The procedure for cooking eggs is a little tricky. Despite it all, my eggs turned out great this morning.

    Yummm!!o_O;)

Funny story from years past. There was a new sportscaster on one of the local news stations in Phoenix. The guys last name was 'Swaboda'. The station had a funny promo commercial with a bunch of local people that went something like... "What's a Swaboda?" Numerous funny answers. The one that stuck in my head ever since >>>> "What's a Swaboda?....It's that green stuff that grows in the back of your refrigerator !!":LOL::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
