Hello TrainBoard members! My name is Michael. I am new to both model railway and the TrainBoard forum. This looks to be a very helpful group. My interests are Garden Railway (Gauge 1) , Live Steam & electric , and layout control electronics for trains. My background is electrical engineering and software development. At the moment I am building a DCC++ EX controller along with the SMA20 decoder with the nmradcc-idec libraries. There is much to learn here - but I am enjoying it well. Has anyone every tried to control a live steam loco with DCC? Cheers, Michael
Hi Michael, welcome. Glad to have you aboard. Controlling a live steam loco with DCC or any other protocol would be an interesting challenge. The electronics and software would be simple. However translating the commands into physical controls will be interesting to see your solutions, especially as small as Gauge 1.
Welcome to TrainBoard. Here are many tech savvy folks. (I am not really one of them.) All will help you if they can.
