Welcome to PSR. If I can't haul 250 cars from terminal to terminal, forget it. You will deliver your containers, loads, and modules to me at my terminal. Otherwise I'm not interested in doing business with you. Service, what do you mean by service? I just want to make money on my terms. BTW, anyone want to buy 10,000 sidelined locomotives, or hire 10,000 surplus employees?

PSR will be the downfall of the seven Class-1s, I'm including CN and CP. Railroading is being revived by the local and regional start-up companies that bought the surplus branches and are providing service to individual customers just like it was 100+/- years ago. Unfortunately that also will require reinstalling track that was sold for scrap when it wasn't "convenient" to provide service to small customers. Hopefully the feds will help these small businesses that are the backbone of America.

Sorry for the rant. I'm off my soapbox.

I agree with you about that! PSR is killing the railroad business.

So I see the Belen camera is now 'filtering' the view of the crew lounge too. They had already blocked out the fuel island when the camera zooms in. Can't help but wonder what those guys are doing in those 2 areas they dont want the public to see?? HHhhhmmmmmmm. When I drove trucks I know if I pulled over to 'cool down a tire' I didnt wanna an audience either...LOL.

The Flagstaff cam in the original link seems to be gone.

There is a new railfan cam at Flagstaff though !!!

It looks to be a lot better ! Remote operated and clearer picture at high res ! :D:D

It's not North America, but I have been watching this camera some. I have seen 6 trains at once, all moving. In the few minutes there are no trains passing, the cars are fun to look at. Especially when a kei van is passed by a full size van, they look like different scales.

If you look around, there is another camera of the intersection on the other side of the tracks and another looking across the tracks from the other side. I like this one though because there is other stuff going on. Down the line a little farther, near Shibuya Station, is the famous Shibuya crosswalk.

There's so many cams now, there's not enough time to watch them all!!

My main one is Skykomish and Chehalis, and random on the others.

While in Arizona earlier this month, I stopped by the Tucson cam with a sign for the crew back at work, basically, quit watching YouTube and get back to work. The next day was in Kingman and wished them a happy Friday.

I like the Ft Madison, IA, cam lately. It's on the transcon and has a swing bridge in the background. There is also an Amtrak station. If you miss something, you can go to the Galesburg or LaPlata cam and probably see the train again.

I wonder if the platform is accessible for railfanning, or if you're hemmed in by the fence when Amtrak isn't imminent?

I don't think you can go on the platform. The iron fence ends on the other side of the building sheltering the locomotive on display, the same building the camera is mounted on. We also went through a gate to get to this part of the station grounds. It is hot in Tucson though so we didn't spend a whole lot of time there exploring. There is a little museum but we arrived right at closing time. I think it was 109F that day.
This should drop a pin right about where I was standing, next to the memorial for the DEA agent who died in a shootout captured by the camera:

There is a new road under construction on the other side of the tracks and when finished might offer some new vantage points.

Number 1, the Sunset Limited, is scheduled to arrive around 630pm Sunday, Tuesday and Friday if you want to watch the fun. It is also a fuel stop so it takes nearly an hour.

I am wondering if the person running the Flagstaff camera has a trash fetish. o_O

Every time I watch the Amtrak train come in the person zooms into the dining car and the attendant throwing the trash bags unto the platform. He then zooms into the trash bags themselves and stays on them for a minute or two. I am like :rolleyes::censored::LOL:

Both of Virtual Railfan's Spartanburg, SC railcams are also dead and have been intermittent for a month or more. :(

I've been listening more to railroad radio.

The only benefit I can see in today's massive trains is that with the current shortage of crews, the situation would otherwise bring a national crisis as railroads would gridlock. It's crazy -- todays NS 153 is somewhere near three miles long!
