    Hi,

I model HO. I love the PRR, Pc and CR because of family history on the PRR starting after WWI. I also love the SP, SSW, KCS, SF, and anything railroad related. I even have a Fairmont A4 to restore that came off the SP.

My family history starts with my great grandfather who started with the PRR in 1923 after coming home from WWI. He started as a brakeman at the Buckeye Yard and retired as a passenger conductor in 1960. My grandfather and great uncle also worked PRR/PC/CR after WWII. Grandfather retired as a freight conductor in 1976.

I am also converting my DC stuff to DCC.

Luckily, my wife is very tolerant of my my hobby!

    Welcome to TrainBoard Ralph.

That's a nice family history of railroaders.

I grew up not far from the PRR's Trenton Cutoff. I would lie in bed at night listen to the PRR, PC, then CR locomotives blowing for a grade crossing not far away.

    Welcome and have fun!

Thanks you Sir! I wanted to be a railroader, but parents had other ideas...so I am a model railroader!

Welcome aboard, Ralph. There seem to be quite a number of PRR fans here.

    Glad to be here!

I also have a Fairmont A4 to restore and put back on the rails. My FIL gave it to me. Its SP MOW number is 5306. I need to refresh the ford 2.3 industrial engine and replace the wood flooring.

Pardon me for laughing, but to you Texas guys "right up the road" can mean an hour or two away. To us New Hampshire folk "right up the road" means five or ten miles away. An hour or more puts us in Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, Canada, or the Atlantic Ocean. :ROFLMAO:

Regardless, we're happy to have both of you on board.

Just can't resist a little fun pickin'.

It is fun to pick. And Fate is just up the road from me, about 10 miles. In Texas Just up the road can be 10 to 20 miles. Up the road apiece can be 50.
