Another shot from the Detroit Model Railroad Club this week- Although I might have selected some different signage,:D I particularly like this old gas station. I would not, however, really want to work there and have to use that outdoor hoist in a Michigan winter. Good price for gas, though.

These RBLs came to visit. The Kansas Colorado GP20 spots a TBX RBL at a warehouse in western Kansas. The SPSF GP20 spots a different TBX RBL at the warehouse a little later in the week.
These are the traveling TRAINBOARD cars.....and they can be sent to you...
Check out the post in HO SCALE here on TRAINBOARD.

IMRC 40' Boxcar kit with 8' Door, painted with Scalecoat II L&N Blue and lettered with Mask Island Decals. The cars were built in the early 50's and were rebuilt in 1967 for use in the Louisville KY Appliance Park pool, the roofwalks were removed and ladders lowered except for the brake wheel corner. Evans DF loaders were installed to protect the appliances from damage during shipment.

Outstanding modeling everyone! I didn't get anything finished this week, I am getting close to being done with a couple projects for next week I hope.
I got these done about a week ago.
Been working on these Athearn 55' covered hoppers a couple months off and on.
And as usual, I ended up doing waaay to much to them. When will I ever learn? I looked at the end details and thought hhmm, maybe an air tank here, a triple valve there, and now some piping, well we cant have the bulky walkway, so got a couple etched kits from Plano, then wow those end grabs sure look clunky after all the other details, then snip and sanded all of them off, then I couldn't find the correct straight grabs (why, why did I start this).
Well after drilling 130, #79 holes on each car, for all the walkway mounts and grab irons, I hand bent the straight grab irons, mounted them and the rest along with the walkway mounts with ACC. Then painted w Floquil, and decaled with Herald King decals. I have not worked very much with those decals, I found them to be robust and just a little thicker than what I was used to, but good decals. I then mixed up some epoxy to glue the walkways, then installed Plano cut bars, Walthers trucks and Reboxx wheels finished the basic models. I am gonna run them a while before I give them a dose of light weathering. Any ways a few images of the Arco hoppers.

And this one an Atlas 3560 cuft hopper that was painted hopper car gray, unlettered, I used herald king decals, Plano walkways and cut bars.

Tom, that is some excellent work, thanks for showing me the Temple Gypsum car, I need to find that decal as I have some undecs and roofwalks and I am a little tired of doing the ICG ones, also if I could find where Roundhouse Hobbies went to then I could get some Alaska RR decals for the car.

By the way you could have waited for the new Atlas 5250 to come out, it was announced but nothing since then.

    Thanks Rick,
I need to do a few Alaska RR cars. Please let me know if you find ARR decals.
And that is exactly my luck when I do a bunch of work to something like that the RTR version shows up.
