I finished the 61 and the 64. The last one is the 63, many of you know the sorrow I suffered with that decal. I have one more Tomix drive coming for it.

I have a very cluttered workbench, I have a lot of window glazing to do on North Shore cars, I have two TMER&L striped duplex to paint and letter, I have about 8 Milwaukee ore cars I can finish, I need to paint the trucks and install them. What do you think I should focus on ?

I used the Micro Trains Tru Scale couplers on this one as a test. I do get significant coupler swing, likely more then enough to turn sharp corners. I got some fine tuning to so regarding the mounting but I do like the look so far.

Now I'm looking at photo's to add a bit more detail.

Looking at the background is important. I see three wooden ice reefers behind this motor. Along with a coal hopper and possibly a box car. Knowing the history as I do, this train could be bound for my hometown of East Troy Wisconsin. The reefers (Atlas or Microtrains) could be consigned for Red Top Milk along with the coal hopper. It is possible however, that the coal hopper is going to East Troy lumber. The boxcar might be feed going to the co-op. I have no clue of the date or location of this photo but I think my guess is pretty good. I don't know of any other customers on the system that would order three reefer cars !!!

It looks like a vinegar car behind this motor to me. There was a customer along the Waukesha line that received vinegar. I currently have no vinegar cars, although I do have two ancient kits for wooden tank cars. I'm somewhat certain this is a Richter vinegar car.

My plan for the wood tank cars is to build the tanks and make resin castings so I can have more than a couple. Maybe I can cast the underframes separate?

I know this isn't a freight car thread but it does illustrate a good interurban customer. Interurbans did reach into rural areas and tapped the agricultural little towns across America.

At the other end of NY state deep in the Adirondacks at Saranac Lake was Paul Smith's Electric Railway, an extension of his electric utility interests. Looking at these photos, it appears that may have had only one car. The line was abandoned in the mid-30s.

I finished putting windows in a diner.

I'm going to order the Tru Scale paint for car interiors. I think the car would look better with some partitions. The car is unpowered anyhow

Does anyone want to see what 250 interurban cars look like in a pile ?

I have the chassis but not the time [and certainly not the fantastic painting skills that Randy has] as I am completing the interurban module on which it will run. It is on the list for the darker days... so not very long now. I have bumped it up the list as it should be a good looking car.

I usually prime a bunch of junk plastics and spray a bunch of samples in the 2 dozen shades of red I have and then either choose one or find a suitable tint.

Tru color has ALOT of reds !!

    I'd start with SP scarlet

    Two Electroliners !

I've never had them both out before. This is the very first photo of the 801-802.
