Last night I installed fascia to overhead valence for modules 04 thru 07.

    20200724_225944.jpg 20200724_225937.jpg

This afternoon installed fascia for modules 05 and 06. After that test fitted the background for modules 04 thru 07. Will mark background for trees and buildings for Cynthia to paint. She won several blue ribbons at the Tulsa State Fair for landscapes and painted T shirts. We used to sell her items at craft shows, can't wait to see her work.

Sometime in the near future will add to the benchwork for module 01 and build overhead valence, install module 01. It would compete that side of room.

I had to Google that..."I came; I saw; I conquered"

    Trainboard is educational! :D(y)

    Thank you Sir!

The bridge project brought me back from a slump on the layout. It's was the most challenging project so far. I cut the width down on main span from a double track to signal and scratch built the lift towers and new cross braces. Then added the mechanism house in the middle.

It won't be long till module 05 will be ready to pour water for the river.

You are very talented and I aspire to model like you... especially given all the other commotion you've had to endure since that time.

Anxiously awaiting your water update. Back when I built my layout I used those melty beads from woodland scenics and although they worked well the finished result tends to crack with the slightest of distortion. My next layout I plan to use epoxy and wondering if that is what you will be doing here.

I have a bottle of water from Woodland, it's simple to pour and there's no mixing. Not sure I have enough because the river is 43x12 inches and the bottle is a pint I think.

The water depends on your plans Joe. If you are going to paint the bottom so that when you pour, the river kind of has that murky look, you probably would be good with somewhere between an 1/8th to a 1/4 inch depth. One bottle might do it but it would be close. My #1 tip is make sure everything is sealed super good before your pour. Don't ask how I know.

Thank you guys for your compliments, they are greatly appreciated.

You suggested exactly what I have planned to do, great minds think alike. LOL

I'm going to seal the plywood bottom with Gesso and paint it shades of brown. Will use caulking to seal the front and back along with the river banks where they meet plywood.

Here's the photos of background on modules 04 to 06, need to extend it a few inches more for module 07. Time to go to Lowe's again for two more sheets of Masonite, that should be enough to finish all of it's projects.

I'm going to purchase LED lights for overhead valence this Saturday, can't wait to see the layout with good lighting.

Is it possible to drop the N scale shelf layout from my thread name. I would like for it to be "Boston Mountains Sub Division"? It makes the link a lot shorter.

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

All of my photos are from my smart phone with flash and room lights. Some have additional lights, a two bulb pole, desk and a florescent drop light. LED lights will be an outstanding improvement and can't wait to see it.

This evening going to extend the benchwork for module 01 and the same for overhead valence. Have just enough Masonite to do the overhead and background for module 07.

    Looks like Masonite city.
