That's 125 painted lettered and built iron ore cars. Decals from K4 graphics

I have about 200+ ore cars in my own road Shalvey Central RR, if I can work out to do a photo, I will show one - decals by Tedidecal.

I did 125 in one shot, I'm glad it wasn't more than that . Most of the cars are still not complete. It was and still is a huge project.
In addition to the painting and lettering, I installed new Shapeways coupler pockets to accept the scale size MT couplers. I wanted to escape the slinky effect of all MT couplers and have close coupling. At least the scale size couplers are cheap ! I changed all of the trucks to either atlas or MT and tried to standardize on wheels, either fox valley or Eastern Seaboard models. I still have about a dozen taconite cars to paint & letter but the project is slowly reaching its conclusion.

Since using the MT trains couplers I think it will be possible to use them on interurban cars, I currently have z scale 905 couplers on the North Shore fleet but I have discovered that they do not stay coupled on tight curves. I think the smaller couplers will, as there is no spring slack. we shall see.

I am having the same thoughts about whether to string wire. Got the track cleaning equipment to get under the wire but the four legged guys who let me share their house sometimes take the scenic route to reach the window at the end of the layout.

This case is full of pre WW2 Army & Navy aircraft. All 1/72 scale and many multiples with different markings (I hate wasting decals) About 125 aircraft in this case.

Thank you !! They are all plastic kits, many of them have become very rare . When I get more display case space it won't take me long to fill it. I also have a nice wall hanging case full of trains. This is the shot I was trying to get before I was rudely interrupted by Dirty Pete. thumbnail_IMG_8591.jpg aircraftdisplay.jpg

What is the plan for all those fighters? Attacking anyone who doesn't model interurbans? :p:D

Solution: Train the cat to string the wires. Then cat will not want to tear up what it has accomplished.

I know, it's more fighter types than I planned on (because I didn't want to waste any decals in the large set) but they did turn out well in my opinion. I can't single out anyone for attack because I also model some traction in HO and O scale.. or at least I have some equipment.

I am a bit surprised and maybe disappointed that no one noticed the rare for N scale pickle cars. thumbnail_IMG_8603.jpg

I think these would be classified as interburbans? These German S-Bahns would run longer distances and higher speeds than other local light-rail systems, plus they had platform space on the main Bahnhof in Frankfurt so they were hanging out with the international and inter-city trains. I have several of these in various states of disrepair and running condition as I would just buy any I found regardless of condition (figuring I'd repair them some day.) Here's a pic I took of mine in the 90's with my potato camera:

    I would call them interurbans.
