Ok, Is this typical of CC=CON-COR Labels for their Locomotives including their SD40-2's, SD45's and SD50's, anyone happen to know? Tom
Most of the early locomotive and rolling-stock models that (the then Chicago based) Con-Cor procured from Austria (Roco), Germany (Fleischmann), Italy (i.e., Rivarossi), Japan (i.e., Kato/Sekisui, More, and Tomix), and Yugoslavia (Mehano) bore these adhesive backed paper product description labels. Con-Cor assigned its own set of stock numbers, which replaced those that might appear on the printed inserts and/or packaging materials of some manufacturers. The plastic jewel-box that is depicted in your photograph is typical of the ones that Mehano, Rivarossi, and Roco used to ship their N-Scale products.
That would be quite an undertaking... for example, some Atlas First Generation cars same with stick-on labels on the boxes even though the vast majority had a "standard" label. And that's just one brand for one period of time... Thanks for that Kadee/MTL reference; I knew someone had done it but forgot where. I keep forgetting myself when Micro-Trains switched to what I call the "3" wheelsets in my nomenclature (March 2010).
Minitrix (of what was then called Western Germany) should be added to the list of imported models bearing the previously referenced Con-Cor product description labels. As Con-Cor decorated the majority of its own products, many of the imported models sported liveries that were not available directly from the original manufacturers.
All, If this typical of CC CON-COR paper labels, what did they .. CC do for there versos of the EMD SD45 ? Was it a Full Paper Insert like the ATLAS / YUGOSLAVIA one? Tom
