Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Penn Central going bankrupt. I believe at the time it was the biggest bankruptcy in U. S. history. Regards Paul
Wow, a half century ago. With the PC crumbling, the LV followed suit on July 24th, 1970. It was thought that the E-L might survive, until Hurricane Agnes wrecked the road so severely in June 1972 that it entered bankruptcy the same month.
My PC letter opener found in a desk on my first day at work must have instilled someone with confidence when it was new.
Wow. Time has flown away. The BN merger in March. This unhappy event a few months afterward. 1970 was a big one, in one way or another, for US companies and our futures.
It all seems like an odd and negative turn of events. Now, in my opinion, it all seems cold, corporate, lack-luster and impersonal. I guess you can't go back. Or can you?
