Thanks. I have seen these on eBay. Very reasonably priced. Looked a little ragged on the eBay pics. What is your oppinion of their quality and detail compared to other models available. Certainly this could be a 'you get what you pay for'... but sometimes the value is there. Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
I bought an Atlas VO-1000 in Southern Pacific Tiger Stripes...and was sent a New York Central unit...sending it back....
For the price the details are not bad. They are not craftsman models but they are not bad. They are missing roof details, but those can be easily added. No interior details but again easily added. There is provisions for lighting. There are seams but if you want to remove them a little putty will do the trick. I liked these well enough I bought 6 more!! Oh and order them direct is a bit cheaper than EBay.
Yesterday evening Cynthia and I went to Lowe's and picked up three 1x3 boards and some hardware for the overhead lights valence. The boards will add onto another assembly built a couple of months ago. Will hang them from the ceiling and install LEDs. Have 3/16 inch Masonite that goes on top of the 1x3 frame and it measures 96 inches long and 16 inches wide. Joe
Today's mail brought me a pair of a new type of turnout motor that I want to try out. Couple weeks ago a buddy called me and was quite excited about these so I had to try them myself. Turns out the distributor for these is in my same town so they get here real quick. Already checked them out on the bench and they seem to work just fine. These are about the same price as a Tortoise but much smaller. All the wires can be connected to a plug then plugged in so much easier for under the layout work.
Received 5 DRGW locomotives from Hemi, and a set of 12 Trainworx DRGW coal hoppers. However, of the coal hoppers, all I need are 7. The rest are duplicate to what I already have!
I know that feeling. Seems I forget I pre-ordered something and end up with duplicates and triplicates of the same item and road numbers. Happened mostly with DRGW hoppers and gondolas too! Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
Several of the duplicates I’ve had, were the result of trades. And me NOT keeping track of car numbers at that time! Now, my hopper collection has grown considerably, that it was time to start keeping track of car numbers! Always on lookout for more, that I don’t have! Want to find the one off SP car that was done! Have the DRGW logo car already.
The sun came out today! Well the sun car came out and met my rails. It took a few to figure out where the manga switch was on the car but it sure lights up good. For those who don’t know, it’s on one of the ends (maybe both I only tried one).
Anycubic Photon, a resin 3D printer. No photo, but one can google it to see a black box with orange Plexiglas... It should be here Tuesday or so.
14 pair MT trucks/Couplers. Also the 3 volume set of DRGW depots. Denver and Rio Grande Western Depots - Vol 1 - Colorado Denver and Rio Grande Depots - Vol 2 - Utah, Colorado and New Mexico Colorado Depots - Vol 3 - Union Pacific, Colorado and Southern, Santa Fe, Burlington(CBQ) and others. .
Since I'm just getting back into N-scale had to pick up a couple things last week. They just arrived.
My solar system is growing. I like how the Mercury car has the end of the Sun car in its paint scheme. This is not the lit up car as the sun is the only glowing thing in our solar system. But if you have ever seen 2010, Jupiter achieves critical mass and becomes a star... I still think I will keep the rest of my planets dark.
