Greetings everyone. It is time once again to gather around and see what we all plan to do this first weekend of May in the work shop and on the layout. Friday: I'm trading a Friday for a Saturday and for once it will be warm. I'm taking this opportunity to observe Good Friday, Great Railfanning with my good friend Brian. We postponed it a few weeks back due to weather and work so hopefully the rails will be busy. It will be a bit different then in years past but it will be nice to do something somewhat normal. Saturday: Work at the dealership. It is supposed to be 80 so at least I can ride the bike in. Sunday: Right on cue, RAIN. I hope this allows me some time in the layout room but we'll see. So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday, May 4th to see how we all did. Until then, stay safe, stay healthy and as always... High Greens!
My work of the last night. Decoder update for my Kato N E8A. I change the old Digitrax Sound Board and install a new ESU Board with sugar cube speaker.
Looks like we will be having a visitor this weekend - our Granddaughter. So, I'm not sure how much, if any, model time I will have. And - that's OK. So - report on Monday - Y'all have a great weekend. Stay safe and healthy Wolf
We have a system upgrade going on this weekend at work so not sure how much if any time I will have free. If I do get some free time, I will try and do some work on the electrical sub station. Hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend.
My daughter's family is parking their camper here this weekend, because the son in law has a 4AM job in Burley Monday morning, and needs a head start. And my granddaughter's birthday is Saturday, so I will have 4 granddaughters over screaming and partying. They lifted the stay at home order so my Son's family will be here Saturday too, and we are having a BBQ. I'm doing more yard work today, and the sooner I get done, the sooner I can get to start wiring my welding scene in the roundhouse project. Last night a big prize arrived in the mail:
In a word, this weekend = MAINTENANCE! This weekend will be spent: Sprucing up some track Running the track cleaner on both main lines Taking care of some "bad order" cars that have been sitting in the work shop for a while Labeling some wiring under the layout before I forget what the heck the wiring is doing!! Time permitting, some more building or scenery work
Next E8A loco is born with a new ESU select board. In the factory settings, they run far better than the Digitrax sound boards.
Going to try to get some time in on the passenger station again this weekend. I think maybe I can get the walls up and get the brick sheet cut for the platform. The end of the semester is approaching, though, so I'm not sure how much time I'll get this weekend.
