Ok I’ve been doing a lot of work on the new as well as my old layout. They say they are never done and I agree so what I’ve done is added a second layout that was supposed to be a yard but it took on its own life. Now I’m by no means done. Absolutely got a ton to finish but here are a few shots. First overall

Now as you guys know I love crossing signals I made these by using n scale Bachman signals cut down with paper clips and printed cross bucks. Still need to trim and paint better. And get a base but it’s a start. Best part is arms move

WOW!! Awesome work. Lots of interesting details without looking crowded. I like the Showcase Miniatures O.H. Wright kit, too. Mine is now a "Building 19" defunct seller of salvaged merchandise. Showcase has been MIA as far as releasing new building kits. They produce great kits. Jim

Thanks guys...the quarantine jump started itch at first so I ordered the Wright building the depot, semaphore, engine shed from Monroe and then looked at the layout that was supposed to be a yard and started transplanting buildings adding new roofs and details and it has fun. So much more to clean up on. And if your enjoying a cold one out there cheers from over here cause I’m gonna enjoy one! :)

Jim I was really surprised at how well those kits were designed...great fits. Did the Wright building challenge you? I have to admit I spent 2 days getting all the details right. Well worth it. I don’t think the Wright is a beginners kit but the freight depot was a very quick build.

Hi, Joe. I agree that this is not a kit for the beginner. I had some problems fitting the roof, though it doesn't look like you had that problem. I just took both of them off the shelf to photo them for you and realized they need some remediation. I did buy two of them because I think this kit has potential to be kitbashed. If this lockdown goes on much longer I may get to it. The depot was pretty easy. The kits are well made and do go together nicely. I added some additional details. The roof hangers were added when I realized there was no visible means of support for the big overhanging roof. The light is Plug & play. Thanks, John. I have never seen any of the NZT kits on the after market. I especially wish I had gotten the 5 & 10 cent store. It resembled an old F. W. Woolworth store. Your downtown is really nice. The photos I took of the Wright building are pretty lousy. It actually looks much better in person. I recall most of the names on the forum from when I subscribed to ZTrack magazine. It is great to see more of each of your work, Robert Ray, Jeff and John B. My layout plans are starting to take shape just from watching this forum. Basically I like to build kits and mess around with them. Be well. Keep posting. Keep building. Jim

Jim it’s funny you mentioned roof on the Wright building. I used Elmer’s glue for everything but the roof. I used super glue because I knew once in the tabs I wanted it to stick. That helped me deal with the slight unevenness. Nice lights too on yours!

Really, Joe? Z scale? Outstanding! I have not seen your layout(s) before, but am amazed at what is being done in Z scale. There are so many things to like here, but I'll point out one that no one has so far. The old roundhouse with the removed turntable is something that is very interesting and not often modeled. Also should note that both the workmanship and the scene composition are excellent across the entire layout. Superb.
