A couple weeks ago I broke down and got an Ender 3 Pro 3D printer and gave up on using SketchUp and downloaded Fusion 360 and started trying to learn both. I printed a couple N Scale objects I found on thingiverse.com and then decided to try making a switch machine that would use a small SPDT slide switch to activate the throwbar and points on my handlaid turnouts.

I'll post a few of the pictures of the project here and the rest on my web site ....

More info with part numbers for the switch and such and hopefully I'll soon have the files up on my thingiverse account so that anyone with a printer or access to one can print the different objects....

Cool - would you consider making either the Fusion 360 files / the SLT files, or both available in our Resources section? I've started playing with Fusion 360 just recently, and thinking to maybe use my stimulus check for a printer.

That would not be a problem once I look into how to do it and get them a little better organized. I'll also be putting them on my thingiverse account...

I just looked at the 'Resources' section and have a question. Can you actually upload files there? I didn't see an option for that. What I showed parts wise in the post is three different files but I have a large number of files for the objects that can be put on top of the switch. Were is the limit drawn as to how many files can be put there if that is possible.

Maybe better to put them on thingiverse and post a link to there in the resources section here???

That works, too. Yes, you can upload files, but I would recommend compressing into a ZIP file. You upload a file there, just like you do here (though most folks just think of it as uploading a photo). When you are ready, let me know and I can help step you through the process.
