The kit is called Master Airbrush Cool Runner II. It comes with 3 airbrushes, compressor and accessories for $130. What are your thoughts? Cheap Chinese junk maybe?
Not familiar with this item. So I just Googled it. Found prices ranging from $50.00 with all kinds of extras (China), up to $130.00 with just compressor and hose. This has me wondering. It does look like there is a good amount of plastic in the equipment's composition. Right now I am feeling a bit skeptical about what you might receive. Have you looked at any others? Names such as Badger or Paasche are well known performers and proven high quality.
I bought one . My kit just had the compressor, hose, and air brush . The brush is a good quality , all metal brush , very much like the Paache Talon . Has worked very well for me . The compressor works very well ,I've never ran out of pressure , and includes a moisture trap . I would recommend it as a good first airbrush set .....Mike
I second the idea that this could be a good starter set. Get the hang of airbrushing with this set and then move on up. I hadn't really thought much about airbrushing, until a buddy gave me his well used Paasche airbrush. WOW!!! What you can do with an airbrush! OOPS! What you can MESS up with an airbrush. You learn thru trail and error. Use old/cheap cars etc etc tp learn on first. Save the scratch built engine, unill you learn what to do and what NOT to do.
I picked up a Testor's REALLY basic kit-aerosol can, hose, and an airbrush that was really simple. Cost was about $15 bucks, but I only used it for basically just weathering my Z-scale rolling stock. I don't think I'd trust it for museum quality finish's though..... Make a good starter airbrush to get the basics down.
