I make that same glue applicator tool myself. I use bamboo skewers and drill a wire size hole, then superglue different size sewing needles into the bamboo to make glue applicators. I build all my laser kits with them.
I made the same glue applicator several years ago. Last year change the handles to 1/4" x 1/4" square x 4" long scrap of wood To keep it from rolling off the work bench. I also made one using a small sowing needle sticking the point end into the handle so i could use the eye end to apply glue, The eye will hold just a little bit more glue for those larger glue joints For mixing / diluting / dispensing the glue i use disposable Tattoo ink cups. You can get 300 for about $6 on eBay (100 each small med large) That works out to 2 cents apiece. I drilled a couple holes in a 2" scrap of 1" x 4" Oak board to hold the cups and keep them from tipping over. Makes for a perfect gluing station. Several drops of white glue in the small on the end Glue & water 50/50 mix in the middle and water in the large one on the other end. Makes it easy to get what ever glue consistency i need. too thick dip the needle in the water too thin dip it in the straight glue. And when i'm done just wipe the needle off with a paper-towel and dump the caps in the trash. David

Are those Z Scale military vehicles or smaller? If the rail spacing is 1435mm, the vehicles look a little small?
Those vehicles are Z scale armoured cars BRDM-2 produced in Soviet Union - missile versions. They were designed to accomodate 4 persons. They are relatively well scaled. The models are 25mm long and10,5 mm width. It means 5500mm and 2310mm in reality. Actually they were 5750 mm long (4% difference) and 2350 width (almost perfect). It is possible that there is some illusion due to perspective - rails are closer to the camera that vihicles... In the meantime I added poles with lamps:

This Polish style signal was made by a friend of mine. Unfortunately he switched into N scale .... There will be no many new Z-scale projects from him. This signal is partially 3D printed (top part) and partially photoetched (ledder). The white/red stripes part is made of some small tube. There is only one red LED insight (no place for more) but for diorama purpose it is OK.
Diorama works well for photos of new equipment: Military Star 660 truck and the first truck build in Poland after WWII - Star 20. Both are Shapeways models:

Thanks! I've also shortened the flat from that set from the unusual length of approximately 64' down to something much closer to the correct 53'6" and added styrene bolsters for Full Throttle trucks.
