Very relaxing and Belen is such an active spot. I'd also like to think it helps keep me inspired as well. :D Wouldn't have minded if you left the links here but a new thread is cool because more folks will probably see it. (y)

The link for the Belen cam which is my favorite and I turn on almost every time I am working on the layout is:

Another week of making a mess (or progress depending on your view) and again, I feel like I really didn't get much done even though I have a lot of little things to post today. So, here we go.

At the creek, finally got that last little section painted. Ready for some more rock and maybe water isn't too far away.
    creek 1.JPG
I also cut the clear plastic to size so it is ready to go on each end but no pics.

Next up was the highway bridge. put some dirt under the bridge since there really shouldn't be lush green foliage under it and will be ready for some scrub brush at some point.

Next to the bridge. put dirt on the lot that will be a construction site at some point.

Moving on to another spot, finished cleaning up around the ice cream shop. As soon as the parking was available, the place was packed.
    ic parking 1.JPG

Then put in the fence between the Ice Cream shop and the next business and across the street where the church will be, the new sidewalks and grass were started.

Playing with how to do the parking behind the main street shops. I printed out some parking spaces to get an idea how it will look. Need to shorten this section by about 2 spaces. :)

Over at the cement plant, did some more ground work on the pad for the plant area.

From there it was over to clean up the ground cover mess I made last weekend.
    RW 0.JPG

Wile I was working on that, a road crew moved in and set up shop.
    RW 1.JPG

And of course as always happens, it didn't take long for traffic to become a mess.

Okay, okay, I know what you are thinking at this point, lots of little messes but really, no thick green ground cover this week? Well so as not to disappoint, I did do three small areas.

The first was right along the edge of the track where the junk yard will be between the propane dealer and the main line. This little strip of green actually covered the last long strip of pink foam showing on the top of the layout!
    gc 101.JPG

Then over on the other side, put down a little ground cover near some switches.
    gc 102.JPG
    gc 103.JPG

That's about it for this weeks updates. Hope everyone enjoyed them or at least sees some humor in the work. Cheers everyone!

Nothing really new to report on the JPT sub. So here's a ramble to keep you all up to date. Finally found a doctor willing to review my knee injury and see if there is any more that can be done with it. Appointment coming up in a couple of weeks.Work consumed all my free time from mid last week until Tuesday night. Went to be Monday night with some back pain. Was way worse Tuesday morning. Powered through it all day and then finally gave in and went to the urgent care about 4PM. Now, I will say I have a very high pain tolerance and for me to go to urgent care meant something was way wrong. As soon as the doctor heard it was my back hurting, he was ready to just write it off as a pulled muscle. I had to actually ask for and x-ray and could they check to see if it was something like a kidney stone. The doctor said, oh its too low in the back to be a kidney stone so he just did the x-ray. It didn't show anything so he was ready to give me pain meds and send me on my way. Exactly what I did not want. I insisted that he check for other things and he finally agreed to do a ct scan of the area. Guess what, it is 3 kidney stones. the doctor acted surprised at the finding. What a sorry doctor. Well, now i'm working on trying to flush them. I'll tell you guys, if you haven't had them, they are the most painful thing ever.
So, I always enjoy reading about John Moore's exploits and laugh every time he refers to his wife as nurse diesel. Well, I'm paying for the laughing now. My wife is taking it to a whole new level. She is going out of her way to look up and point out all the worst case scenarios, and trying to come up with these horrible concoctions for me to drink to try and help it pass. I've been home the past two days and I think I'm going to drag myself to the office tomorrow and see how it goes.
Thanks for listing to me ramble and just so the post is actually relevant to the layout, I did order a weathered MT boxcar and an old Santa Fe reefer that I hope will arrive early next week.

Good Luck with your stones. That is very painful indeed. I wish you the best and cant wait for the traffic to clear up so I can go grab some ice cream again haha

You can always use it as an excuse to work on the railroad though haha

    Cheers ! Take care !

Not a lot of progress this week due to the stone (still with me by the way) but did get a couple of things done.

Cleaned up around the cement plant. Not happy with how some of the pad turned out so may require some rework there.
    0_cement.JPG

Over at the church, the grounds crew still has a bit of work to get the place in shape. Think they may have over done it trying to green up the grass with some ammonium nitrate.
    0_church.JPG

Down at the other end of town, a construction crew has already set up shop on that new dirt lot. The survey crew should be on site soon too.

    0_deluxe2.JPG

I don't even remember how long I have had the deLuxe instant scene but it finally found a home. Adding the excavator and pick up truck to it made a quick scene. Once I add either the survey crew or come site workers, that scene should look really good. Of course I have to finish the bridge work right there as well. That's about it for now so I'm off to drink a ton of water to try and keep moss from growing on the stones.

Well, no real work on the layout this week or weekend so for my 500oth post here on TrainBoard, here is a four sided look at the layout.

I did sort a bunch of stuff and clean up the workbench.

    After:

And last but not least, I was gifted a pair of hand me down 21" monitors that I hooked up to the PC in the train room. As you can see, I can now surf TrainBoard and watch the railcams at the same time.

And don't judge me because it took me almost 21 years to get to 5000 post.:confused::coffee:

Oh so neat, even the Before picture of your work bench! Want to come over to my basement? :D

Those two monitors are a great idea! Leave them on while you do train stuff. (Note to self. Hmmm...I do have a spare to PC.)

And congrats to your 5,000th! :ROFLMAO:

Now we know why you didn't do any modeling! You do know a clean desk is a sign of . . . .something bad!
