Finally got the for lease sign put back on the front of this building. Anyone have an idea who the leasing agent may be?
"I saw your number on the wall..." Love it! Not many instances that I have seen of this number being used in a model RR.
I got it! I got it! Glad you guys got that too and got a good laugh out of it. Thought that would be a fun little detail for folks to find.
Well, it didn't feel like I got much layout time over the weekend but still managed to get a few things done. My wife was kind enough to get me a coffee maker for the train room so that was what I started out with. Followed that up by starting on some additional roads Saturday. And of course it seems I can't be in the train room without spreading some ground cover lately.
Then Sunday evening, I went back for another round of adding ground cover around some of the new roads. and around the parking lot at the ice cream stand. Realized I need more sidewalk to finish up around the church so painted a few strips of styrene. This side of the layout is moving right along. A couple of more areas to get ground cover or parking/driving areas and it just might be time to break out some more trees before long.
I am in the third group, people who do not drink coffee at all! Love the sign, I am glad I got it right away! Is the leasing agent Tommy TuTone?
I don't drink coffee either because it tears up my stomach, used to drink a 12 cup pot by my self every day. Joe
So last night, I was thinking about things to do on the layout and started jotting down some notes. This doesn't even cover half the layout. Think maybe I should feel scared......... Projects: Fascia · Trim out creek section · Paint fascia · Install clear sections at creek bed ends* · Install fascia · Connect controls and switches · Install throttle pockets · Install cup holders Creek · Finish to paint creek bed · Install clear sections at creek bed ends* · Finish to apply rock to creek bed · Finish to apply rock to banks of the creek · Pour water in creek bed · Add canoes · Add trees and foliage around creek banks Town area: · Finish parking lots behind the main street buildings · Finish parking lot for the ice cream shack · Finish truck lots for the industries at the left end of main street · Install the sidewalks around the church · Apply ground cover for church · Look at creating a cemetery next to the church · Apply ballast around the test track running behind the town · Apply ground cover around test track after ballasting · Wire the light for the water tower · Wire the lights for the rest of the buildings · Fix the signs on the buildings · Fix the roof top details on the buildings · Create signs for recycle drop off and propane dealer · Finish bridge by gas station · Install construction site next to bridge · What to do with the junk yard by the propane dealer? Cement Plant: · Finish traffic area · Add office · Add landscaping · Look into fencing · Entrance and exit road access I know some of these probably even have sub categories as well. I guess I could consider it "job security" in the home dungeon.
I finished reading your thread from start to finish, and I have to say that it's very impressive! Despite some health set backs you're flying along really quick. You're already got some scenes nearly finished, roads, bridges, ground cover and all (I can barely even finish a single building after two weeks!) I also really like to see that I'm not the only one keeping extensive "todo" lists for the layout, I feel less silly now
Thank you for the kind words Stephane! I am enjoying it very much so far and that has helped with the progress. I like to do list. On those days when I go down to the layout with no plan, I can pull that out and find a direction. Doesn't always work but helps.
Before heading down to the layout this morning to do a little work, kicked off the day with the Belin rail cam, flipped through the latest N-Scale mag and enjoyed a glorious 14 ounces of my favorite coffee Happy weekend everyone!
