Today my workbench is occupied by my wheel cleaner as I go about lubing and cleaning all motive power of the Turtle Creek Central. I am using Labelle number 105 track conditioner and CRC QD contact cleaner. For the gears I am using Labelle number 108 light oil. The wheel cleaner is Tidy Tracks by Woodland Scenics. Now occupying the wheel cleaner is my Micro Ace 0-6-6-0 which has been given a Model Power tender and other upgrades.

Previously I had my 44 tonners on the cleaner 3 at a time.

Wifi was down all weekend, so I'm a little behind. I thought I was the only one that liked BL-2s !!! I now have 4, all CRI&P. I prefer the maroon, but I'll keep one black. Ordered my first one in 1991 from "a place in NY" while stationed on USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63). Had to wait 10 yrs to find out it didn't run !!! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: It works fine now.

I finished installing ground foam on my diorama the other day and the next step is to paint the rock castings with a wash of black. After that will do water and a waterfall, start installing trees and shrubs. The last will be a few details to polish presentation.

Working on an SP SW8, made from a Kato NW2. Handrails and detail parts are the only things left before a nice coat of Scarlet and Grey!
I've also got some undec BLMA reefers that will receive some Cryo-Trans paint and decals (I know the model isn't accurate but it's all that out there)
    And many, many more!

    MK,

You are "right on" dude. You see the cookie sheet in the 2nd image but probably can't see 2 cookie sheets, each with 2 F units, to be repaired/upgraded, in the 1st image. Works out great. Sort of organized chaos.

IMG_7788.JPG A boxcar of the famed Virginian and Ohio freelanced railroad. This brings my total up to two boxcars, a coal hopper, and an SD9. I think it mixes well into my Chessie/predecessor fleet!

I made this for railing my multiple F units at once and also for the ease of railing the ac12.

Clever splicing! I think it could be useful for a lot of things that are longer than the norm.

Broke out my last bottle of Chameleon paint stripper and began the process of stripping paint on a box car.

M&R etched sides on a Microtrains RPO car. Kit bashed Atlas Rivarossi passenger trucks. I had to shave all the details like roller berings, brake cylinders and suspension off and replace them with bits and pieces salvaged from old freight trucks. Allegedly someone like Wheels of Time is going to release similar trucks some day.

This little beauty that my bride gave me for Christmas. It's great for cutting up to 1/8" styrene. Much easier (and safer!) than a hobby knife. Also great for straight cutting building kit parts for kit bashing. Already finished three scratch built buildings using it. (Posted elsewhere...) Saw1.jpg
