I was fooled too. I'd forgotten that Testors is owned by RPM, not Rust-Oleum. We live in an increasingly nutty world don't we? I'm with Box, asking who would waste their time spawning such? Some goofball with an axe to grind? I'd like to think that their competitors are above such a cheesy creation.

    Darn,
I was ready to head for my LHS and buy a bunch or gloss and dullcoat! I'm no fan of social media - no way to know what is real.

On the Testors Web Site they say, Testor is now part of The Rust-Oleum Group. But if you look up the parent company of Rust-Oleum, it says Rust-Oleum Corporation is owned by RPM International Inc. Typical corporate smoke and mirrors ;)

Now is there fake news circulating about Testors, this is from their current Facebook page:

We've been made aware of information currently in circulation addressing Testors Corporation distribution. Don’t you worry! Rust-Oleum continues to sell the Testors brand in the United States & Canada. And, by the way, we’re always creating new products for the craft & hobby enthusiast.

Also don't forget fellow hobbyists, Testors is not the only name in the game of hobby paints. I don't think I'm allowed to share links or be to specific but Scalecoat paints are still being sold by a new owner, there's also Vallejo paints, Modelflex, Tru-Color Paint and even Rapido has a new model railroad paint line.

Thanks for the details Rich and also for the list of paint brands. I made a note of these. Floquil left a void when it quit the market and it's nice to see others trying to fill it.

    Here we go again.

Glad to hear it's not true. Or maybe half true. I suspect at sometime, in the near future we may see more changes. I'll let you work on what.

Seems to me April First would be a better time to pull this stunt.

    Have a good weekend.

What's kind of funny, Scalecoat was my paint of choice and Floquil and Polly Scale were backups. When Weaver Models / Quality Craft announced they were closing, I had the same knee jerk reaction as what happened a few years later when Testors said they were going to stop selling Floquil and Polly Scale Paints. I was very relieved when Minute Man Hobbies picked up the Scalecoat line. My two most recent repaints were accomplished using Scalecoat II wash away paint remover and Scalecoat II engine black. I've also had pretty good success using the Modelflex paint line.

I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules, but for those who have not done so, may I recommend downloading the MRH Acrylic Painting Guide. This is a very good cross reference from the old Floquil paints to Model Master, Vallejo and MODELflex paints.

I'd be happy with this desert topping out at 105° and more rain in the mountains
