This easterner doesn't know what state these locations are in, but nonetheless, I didn't know that the MILW main survived in places. VERY cool! :)

This is in eastern Montana. The BN acquired the line from Terry, MT to Aberdeen, SD and points east.

The track in foreground leads to?

Sounds as though that rain is hitting your camera or microphone? a very interesting effect. Do you have an accessory microphone?

The foreground track is the west leg of the wye that leads to the "Black Bridge" over the Yellowstone and up to Circle or Sidney. The Circle branch only goes about ten miles now, as it is embargoed past Fisher Sand n Gravel. The local has work all the time up this line. There is a Sidney local most days also.

My camera has no accessory speakers, but it rarely rains so hard here, so I live with it and kind of enjoy the rawness of the sounds it picks up.

Just curious- Is there any chance of a shipper on the rest of the branch? Is the Circle depot gone?

The elevator burned, but they were planning to build a Bakken oil uploading port during the boom. That may still materialize as the rails are all still there. There are three other shippers on the branch, right in Glendive though. I guess we will see.

The depot is there and is part of a museum on the west end.

Was heading home late the other night, and saw these flames shooting up. So, I HAD to go investigate!! And here we see that a crew of car-knockers is lounging around watching the fumes get flamed out of the tank car. I assume that they will be doing some welding on the car to fix a leak of some sort. It is a neat little arrangement to see!! PIC_0757.JPG PIC_0758.JPG
And last nights sunset behind a unit on the service track next to my new house! PIC_0760.JPG
