Hello all! So after several years of reading, watching, browsing...I have finally pulled the trigger and started my first build! My name is Alex, I am 32, from Washington State, married with 4 kids. I have been in the Navy for 14 years so as you can tell, I don't have a lot of time to break away. Model railroading is the perfect fit for my small spurts of time away. I am going with a N scale layout mostly because of space. Eventually I want to move into HO...mayyybe O scale... Either way, I am really excited to finally be getting into this and I look forward to interacting with the community!
Welcome aboard! There's a few military folks here, some active, some retired. I'm AD USAF, so I well understand the rare ability to have train play time!
I was station in Oak Harbor for 3 years. I am originally from Walla Walla. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was back home last year about this time, visiting my father in Bremerton. Fondly remember my youth when the Missouri was there, and walking her decks. I am originally from the Snoqualmie Valley.
Thank you everyone! I’ve watched so many videos and happy to finally be getting into the hobby...but if I knew how frustrating carving rocks into a one inch foam siding would be...haha! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Would love to hear your thoughts, was thinking about a turn out before the bottom turn over to a small yard or a couple loco sheds?... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
