As I have free WiFi here at the airport as I head for home, I will start this thread. This is an old photo I took of the model I built of the Imperial Cotton Gin as it appeared in the early 1950s. In the late 1940s, mechanical cotton harvesting was developed and required additional processing of the cotton as there was much more debris picked up by the machines than was gathered in hand picked cotton. The brand new gin building and cyclone bins (center right) were added to remove, collect and store the sticks, leaves, husks and rocks pulled out of the harvested cotton.

This would have been last week's contribution, since we did not get one started here is what I would have entered for the group. P&LE 50' Boxcar, used a Branchline 50' AAR Boxcar, with a 10' Door from the scrapbox, also added Moloco EOC Cushion Draft Gear Boxes and A-Line Sill steps. Painted with Floquil Jade Green Paint and lettered with Highball Graphics decals. Prototype was equipped with a Spartan Easy Loader Equipment for securing loads and used in general service. Exactrail PS 4427CF Covered Hopper Kit, painted with B&M Blue Paint and lettered with Oddballs Decals. This was one of 30 cars in a lot for grain service in the midwest, Louis Dreyfuss purchased many lots of these cars and they had many different paint schemes. I've been pretty busy doing different scenes on Rochelle & Southern RR. Here's a couple pictures of my progress.

Here is this week's contribution! The first model I completed this week is an Eastern Car Works Northeastern Style Caboose that I acquired semi finished on E-Bay, I fixed the broken parts and completed the kit, then painted it with Scalecoat II PRR Caboose Red and lettered it with Herald King decals. This was one of many paint schemes applied to the Lehigh Valley Cabooses, just like their motive power. Moving on to the late 70's, an Athearn FMC 60' Hi Cube Boxcar kit, painted with Scalecoat II B&M Blue Paint and lettered with Herald King Decals. I could not find a lot on these cars that belonged to the Arkanas Lousiana Missouri Railroad but at one time Georgia Pacific Lumber was the owner and I believe they may have been in paper service on the railroad. Numerous railroads used the 60' boxcars in paper service. A pair of Athearn GP9's with a mixed freight on the Stongsville Club layout. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski
