My apologies for not conducting the Friday Modeling Plans thread. Since returning to Illinois, life has been busy and I must have lost track of time. I did get some modeling in however and things are slowly returning to normal.

Saturday: After a busy morning of removing small trees and brush on the property, I headed to my favorite not so local hobby shop. It's good to be back! I talked with the shop owner, Tom, regarding an older Atlas HO S4 I picked up last month regarding DCC. While we talked about that, we also talked about FreeMo HO. Tom organizes a twice a year meet up of FreeMo modelers with the next set up coming in October. We talked about standards and construction methods regarding modules. After talking with Tom, I've determined that I will build at least one standard 2X4 module for HO FreeMo.

Sunday: Domestic duties have returned since I'm back home again and most of the morning was spent doing that. I did bring out the small Inglenook B&M layout I had started last year and dusted it off and did some switching. It is a simple layout but it is still fun to operate. Since I'm only working part time right now, the rebuild of the City Job will have to wait. In the mean time, I have everything I need to finish the little B&M layout. Things are slowly returning to normal once again.

So how about you? How did you do this past weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Wednesday the 3rd. Yes, you heard correctly, Wednesday the 3rd. The Americans in the group are celebrating a birthday on the 4th and many of us have the 4th and the 5th off with a nice long weekend. So be sure to check in Wednesday. Until then, have a good week, stay safe and as always...

    High Greens!

After emails and ads turned up nothing, gave up on my search for the missing HOn30 conversion chassis. :( Ordered another complete kit.

Meanwhile, slowly progressed on my laser kit box car project.

I managed to make some decent progress on my C-30-4 caboose project. All 3 are now decaled and a clear coat has been applied. Chassis are assembled. Next - final assembly (Car body end grabs and end rails) some touch up paint and weathering. Should be done this weekend. - Pictures, when they are done.

Hope Y'all had a great weekend,
    Wolf

A bit more wiring progress on one of my (DC railroad) control panels. I want to use some fun colors for LEDs that indicate selection of throttle inputs, reverse loop direction and DCC/DC, but am not happy with what I bought. As such, I ordered a handful of diffused Blue, Orange and Pure Green LEDs from LED-Switch [ http://www.led-switch.com/5mm LED.htm ], but don't have them in hand yet. These special functions are to the right in the photo below. The panel also includes a number of spare positions if needed in the future.

Looks way too tidy for me. Needs more kinks, knots and snarls. :)

:ROFLMAO: It may well end up that way when I add the wires to power the LEDs and the wires to each block. I find myself wondering what I was thinking when I laid the thing out!

I completed the detailing of the structure I’ve been working on all month. It is now ready for werit grading. Photos wouldn’t do it justice so here is a video. I also started working on my next scratch build. It is almost finished, just need to find a location to stick it in and then wire it it place. It will light up so as too see the.interior when all said and done.

Are you going to also do a stamp mill for your mining action? That would be real big noise! :D

My additional LEDs arrived today (very prompt shipment from LED-Switch by the way) and the colors are all vibrant. This is their Orange. I fit holder/lenses atop my LEDs to further diffuse the illumination and they look neat too.

Got back down to the layout for the first time in about 7 weeks. On Saturday, started painting my M8 Bradley kits, then did some cleaning and organizing. After that, put a test tunnel portal in place and then cut in a creek bed and placed a bridge. On Sunday, I finished painting all but the tires on the M8's. Then I was able to test my new used switches. All worked perfectly. After that just sat back and ran a few trains. All in all, a good weekend!

Been cleaning out my collection (and the surrounding storage), managed to at least get a better home for my HO diesels. Now to deal with the rest of the mess...

Does your storage rack roll? I have thought about getting one for my T-Trak modules.

Been continuing work on my newest rebuilt module for the Asian Prototype modular layout I belong to. Been doing lots of work with scenery and built a 2 section curved ballasted through girder deck bridge made from old Atlas bridge sections. Soon will come the track and ballast then it will be almost finished. We will be displaying this layout at the Narrow Gauge Convention in Sacramento in September. I have been posting regular updates on my blog: https://tokyo-in-nscale.blogspot.com/search/label/highway module

I got the non rolling version, but they've been great. I picked up another two for the garage even. They seem like a good choice for module storage, I'll probably get one for that use as well once I finally get my own built.
