Welcome back everyone. I trust you had a nice Mothers Day Weekend and maybe even got a little model railroad activity done as well. Saturday: I was up, bright and early to get a few things done before heading up to Plymouth NH for the B&M Historical Meet. A surprise I was not expecting was the Hobo RR was bringing up an excursion train with their SW1000 switcher. The locomotive is in a scheme similar to the original B&M maroon scheme with silver substituting the gold. The locomotive was pulling two RDC's and one Pullman coach. Unfortunately, I was so busy doing railfanning that I missed the slide show presentation I originally came to see. I spent the rest of my time however, doing a bit of rail archaeology, finding remains of a team track, freight house and even an abandoned B&M PS1 50 foot boxcar. It looks like the car suffered a broken coupler and was shoved onto the old freight house spur and forgotten about. I'm willing to bet it has sat there since the mid 1970's. Sunday: With it being Mothers Day and domestic duty day, I got zero done regarding model railroading. I was able to spend an hour "daydreaming" about the HO switching layout I plan to build some day but that was all. So how about you? How did you do? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Friday the 17th to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, stay safe and as always... High Greens!
Painting a couple of detail parts. Getting ready to paint a critter shell, and install these items....
No model railroading for me. I did get my Granddaughter's kick scooter painted. Most of the hardware is restored. I did have to purchase a metric tap and die set -- so I can clean up some 50+ year old threads. And, new inner tubes. The stems on the ones I had purchased are to long. Dang it!! Hope Y'all had a great weekend, Wolf
First shot below is where I ballasted track already (mainline) and started gunking up the center w/ long-term oil/grease drippings. Also spent some time (not much) working on one of the bridges that will go over a short ravine.
Decaled several cars and built two others. Then that was it for modeling. I still need to work on my scratch build though. Sunday was spent chasing a train.
