Posting from a hotel getting ready for a kids dance comp. This hotel is right next to an LA light rail maintenance facility. So that's cool

You are the MAN Curtis! When I first read of these units being in Huntington, I hoped you might be able to snag a shot. (y)

About ten years back, it's train time at Edmonds, Washington. The agent awaits #8 coming to a complete stop:

I was dropping a trailer in Fairfield, Ca, near the bud brewery and caught three UP locos doing some switching. One was a rare SD59MX:

With all the rain we have been having in central Texas , the Navasota River is running high. This afternoon along Highway 6 just north of the town of Navasota.

Is that a communications/telephone line hanging so low to the water? How high is it above normal stream flow?

Telephone cable. I heard the river is even higher today so it is probably under water. Any snag coming down the river will take it out. Can't find any photos showing the normal height above water. Here is one from the other side with 844 but you can't see the water.

OK found a better photo. The cable in question is hiding there in front of the bridge deck from this angle.

Someone on Facebook posted a photo of the traffic congestion in Wyoming caused by rail fans chasing 4014. Sadly, that is one of the reason that I decided not to go. I can't imagine getting any good photos with all of those people around.

Wow. This view really shows the water flow you are seeing.

BNSF interchange traffic rolls thru the Soo Tower plant. The tall tower has stood since the Great Northern era:
