For a static display, and those of us who can't afford the brass version......lets make one! Start off with one of the inexpensive Del Prado EP-2 static display. I got mine for about $15.00, straight from Italy..... Paint it up a basic flat black, color some of the details, and get some Micro-Scale N-scale Milw decals...... Get some Tomix #0267 N-scale pantographs which are about the closest ones I could find to the Milw prototype..... More to come as I start to detail her more.......
Well, the Tomix pantographs could almost pass for Z scale, so got some better ones-actuall Milwaukee Road type!! And they actually move!!
And installed, looks way better!! A little weathering, maybe some Micro Trains couplers. For $35, not a bad static display at a station with a train behind it.
Looks great - the paint alone makes a world of difference but adding the details as you go (decals, pans, couplers, etc) takes it over the top! Looking forward to seeing the final version. -Mike
More details, Detail Associates marker lights and Labelle engineer/fireman for the cab. Still looking into couplers for it....
