    Broke: Just send anything you don't want to me, you don't even have to pay me to take them. If not used by the club, they will be donated to kids who will enjoy them...:D

    I can see why it is unfinished. My question is just who pulled it back out of the trash can?

    These unusual and seemingly illogical 'offerings' (yes, good for a bonfire sacrifice) are a sign of the times for hobbies. If you look at the MSRP for just about anything in hobbies... they are skyrocketing and the 'discounting' is not bringing down those prices like they used to. Ebay is merely reflecting the higher costs and even low priced junk is being thrown in there as opposed to throwing it in the garbage. If I were to offer a 'lot of scratch-building materials' with tidbits from leftover stuff from several kits, cut-up loco or rolling stock shells... etc... I might find there are people willing to bid up the lot just to get one or two items they need to finish a project. Of course... I would be reasonable with the starting bid... but some people are not. Besides... one man's junk is another man's treasure... even in our hobby.

    Please check your PM.

    You would be amazed at the prices that junk fetches. I saw one guy who had a junky C-C RDC. I posted his listing here, some time back. In the auction, he stated THIS THING IS JUNK. He put it up there for six dollars and five dollars shipping. He got over twelve dollars for it.

    Some time back, I sold several C-C Hudsons. Only one of them ran properly. The one that ran properly was a NYC factory paint and letter with no modifications. The junque Hudsons were heavily modified and either did not run at all , did not run properly forward but did in reverse, or just ran very poorly. I stated several times in the text of each auction that the thing did not run properly. Two of those HOON-kay Hudsons fetched more than did the one that was unmodified and ran properly.

    I have sold items for parts, stated several times that they were good only for parts and they have fetched better prices than have some of the custom painted items that I have put up on FeePay. I am going to become a junk merchant on FeePay. It seems to be a great way to clear out your junk box of things with which you have less than no intention of doing anything.

    I think the thing that I find most frustrating about eBay is the eternal appearance of the same postings of stupidly overpriced and/or junk items. I see the same crap appear week after week and month after month with no adjustment to price and no termination. I can't begin to imagine what kind of Seller puts this stuff up and is content to doze while awaiting a sale that never comes.

    Wait ..... I think I just found a way to exclude specific Sellers from searches! (y)

    That's one of the hard parts about posting things here...remembering if they had already been posted weeks/months before because they just keep relisting the same junk for the same crazy prices. At what point shouldn't you wonder as to why nobody is buying it.

    One other thing: USPS...income keeps going down because of how much they charge for shipping packages (allowing other shippers to get into the game...Fed Ex, UPS, etc) so they think the solution is to raise prices so that they make more money. Actually that just makes people send LESS because of the cost. I just saw an Atlas covered hopper on EBay that I didn't get when they were available (now OOS everywhere online) at a reasonable price ($7, MSRP was $14) but with $8.60 shipping...for ONE N scale car. I understand that the seller has to get something to cover the cost of packing, but in this case I don't blame the seller for the shipping price. In thhe past $5 was a popular shipping price and you could ship something USPS for $5 but with the latest price increase $8-$10 shipping is seemingly becoming the norm. If I can't find several items that the seller has that I want (like in this case), I have to walk away. USPS is putting themselves right out of business...wait, 'we' own them so they won't go out of business. We will just keep supporting them with our tax dollars...{sigh}

    That's so true Jeff. As a Seller, I try to ship in my own boxes, often recycled from elsewhere. I wish more Sellers made the effort to do this. N Scale is light and small and if a suitable box can be found and the parcel is 13 Oz or less, it can ship at First Class USPS rates at much less than the easy-peasy and expensive Small Flat Rate Box. I've had a lot of success going this route and I think Buyers appreciate the effort to save them money. Using my own boxes for larger shipments also translates into significantly lower shipping costs.

    It looks like a 'vintage' Rivarossi SW1500 chassis. Got to be worth a fortune... a very tiny fortune... lol.
