Welcome back everyone. I hope you all had a great and productive weekend.

Saturday: was as planned. A co-worker and I left central NH about 7:00am and headed an hour and a half north to almost blizzard conditions. Snow was deep and fresh and a group of six of us did about 116 miles in beautiful NH back country. The highlight was the sun coming out as we stopped for some trail side kielbasa. Probably will be our last outing of the year as the days are longer now and the snow down here is all but gone.

Sunday: I got up and made the dreaded trip to Wally World. Fortunately, they were not too busy and I found the perfect table for the City Job. A small 20-inch wide by 36-inch long, folding table. I also picked up a small 36-inch long LED light to hang under the one module. Now I have a small table to set the desktop on and still have room for a small work area under the second module. The LED light provides more then enough light for working on everything from basic freight car maintenance to filling out switch lists. It's also small and compact enough for me to take to shows.

So how about you? What did you get done this past weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Friday the 29th to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, stay safe and as always...

    High Greens!

My BL-2 project is just about ready for paint. I have a few more things to finalize.

Changed out a turnout on Saturday, and Sunday was a nice day for a drive over to Ottawa for a model train flea market. Ended up buying a few freight cars, a couple of road vehicles and... two Roundhouse two-truck Shays!

One's a partially assembled kit ($25) and the other is a complete engine ($10). Both have the same problem - the part that goes on the shaft to drive the gearbox is loose, so the motor turns but the loco goes nowhere.

Looked up a few solutions to that and I'll cogitate and do something when I have that "aha!" moment.

So this morning I have a tad of a train hangover...:cool:

Working on the pile of boxes in my way. When they are thinned, I can set out my little "banquet" style folding table. And then some T-Trak modules....

Diversifying a bit. I've always liked these ugly ducklings. And, wanted to see what I could do with one. I've always liked the look of the RI's units. She will be painted in the Black and red scheme.

    1. Starting wiring the ladder tracks of my staging/fiddle yard. The 16 ladders will take 37 feeder drops, plus I'm wiring the south rail to be on/off switched. Got feeders dropped and soldered in 13 spots yesterday
    2. Continued working on one of the dual track bridges I have been building. The basic bridge is done and now I am working on the center pier tower which is being constructed out of Central Valley open lattice girders.

I've been lax in taking any pictures. Will have to do better.

Pulled out a station platform kit to build and started to paint it. Grabbed one I built a few years ago and painted it up as well to get rid of the plastic look. Trying to decide if I ant to keep the walls creme on the new kit or paint them white as well.[IMG][IMG]

I have a hand at depot to build but I need to buy some more paint to paint it up. Gotta get rid of the yellow.[IMG]

It definitely gets top marks for ugly.

I remember an article in CTC Board once where they showed a BL2 and GP7 together. The caption stated that while they were virtually identical mechanically on the inside, on the outside they looked like they hailed from different planets.

Got my first Shay running (the partially assembled kit) - roughed up the end of the motor shaft, put some CA on it, slipped the bushing on and waited 24 hours, but the front truck gearbox cover tends to come loose at the front. More cogitation in the works.

    Break out the coffee!:)
