Hi, I´ve just bought this set for little money on ebay . Can anyome tell me, which year they were released? Thanks Mattias
Mattias, You didn't give s product number and the image isn't clear enough to identify the locomotive. You might want to check the MTL product database: https://www.micro-trains.com/index.php?_route_=downloads check the bottom half of the page. Mark
Prototype?!?? What are some of the road names? I tracked 1998 flat cars but cannot read anything from the pictures. This is neat!
Pretty sweet with that steamer in there-those are worth $500 by themselves!! Never seen this set, maybe a one-off?
the picture isn´t too good but the package is even sealed and I don´t want to tear it off (yet). This is the description: Steam M-4 2-6-0 Powered -- SP #1681 Large Headlight, Large Boiler Tube Pilot, Conventional Oil Tender. That´s all I could find in the net. The back says each set includes an F7 plus 4 freight cars. So probably not the standard set inside edit. These Z scale Mogul Steam Locomotives are available in different 'M' class versions, all of which are highly detailed brass on Marklin(R) chassis, prototypically accurate, ready to run and fitted with Magne-Matic(R) Couplers.
Wow, that is very cool. Although not overly "accurate", it is still a very neat little item...was it really necessary for me to use the work "little"? After all, this is Z scale... Being a Marklin engine, I trust you know about "Hardened Oil Syndrome" and will take the steps to clean it before you run it...? Good score(s)! Mark in Oregon
I have had this for many years and it has always ran exceptional! I have pulled many of the MTL logging car with it I don't remember when I got it but it was many years back! It came in a MTL box pretty large for a small Engine. I had to get it because of it very fine details on the Engine and tender! It's been cleaned and well taken care of wish they made Engine like this today! This is the other Steam Engine and it is a Marklin And it's not as detailed as the Other
