Here we are again, time to assemble and see what is on the agenda for the weekend. I know Saturday, I plan to go, you guessed it, snowmobiling. Sunday however I plan to work on some model railroad projects. It’s been a while since I’ve run any B&M so I may have my B&M GP9 and buggy be guests at the Galesburg City Job. I hopefully will now get a chance to fix that pesky piece of track too. So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We’ll assemble again on Monday the 25th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and as always... High Greens!
I am going to attempt what I didn’t get done last week. Building two plastic kits, bashing/scratching an HOn30 snow plow. Small details. Also I now have two decoders needing to be installed and programmed.
Well, last weekend was a washout but during the week I managed to put down some paint, glue down some track and run some test trains. This weekends goals are to put down some screen material for hills in preparation for the plaster cloth shell later.
Tonight, I'm heading off to my friends house - to run his On30 layout. Well, I haven't decided what I want to tackle this weekend. I have an NW-2 that will be getting her stripes -(Zebra stripes that is). I have a lot of work to do on my layout -- so...... A report will be filed on Monday -- Y'all have a great weekend, Wolf
Because my N Scale railroad will be moved someday, I'm going to great pains to make it easy. This weekend I'm working on the wiring connections inside my control panel and want to use old materials to keep cost under control. I needed tiny numbers to apply to used terminal strips that will be connected to my Kato Unitrack turnouts and was fortunate to find the perfect thing -- leftover Virnex Industries decals I'd bought in the early '80s. Imagine my surprise to find that the decals are just as perfect today as they were 35 years ago. Sadly, Virnex has since closed their doors.
That's pretty cool. Did anyone ever ask, why you were saving these for 35 years If so, you can show them now!
Thanks in2tech! My blocks will be identified with letters (continuing the tradition, stemming from the telegraph era) and I'm scratching my head on how to work these markings on my terminal strips. Hopefully someone makes small sans serif alphabet decals ~ 1/8" tall. Heck, maybe I can find some of those in my stash too.
Just received parts from Atlas and Kato so I can repair some locomotives that were donated to the Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum. Donations are a Bad News/Good News situation. The Bad News is that a model rail hobbyist has passed away. The Good News is that the children don't want the stuff so they donate it to the Museum. Leaves us with mixed emotions.
